PvP How????

If only FD had the competence to make the differing security levels mean something than you would have a choice; low shields and trade in the safety ( but low profit ) of high-sec or go combat build for trading in low sec/anarchies for the big profits. Unfortunately its low-sec everywhere so a near combat build is required for open

Proper security would be fun, it should be very dangerous for naughty people in civilized space and just as dangerous for lawful players outside of it. Right now you don't need to pay any attention at all to a systems security status it means nothing beyond finding a good place to shoot NPC's for specific materiels without a fine.

But it would lead to lots of "GAAAAH" from three specific types of player. The player killers who claim to be PVP'ers (but are not the real PVP'ers), the careless and the people who don't avoid blatting the space police by accident. Which wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing.

Not sure you even know what a PVPer is...

PVP'ers are players who do PVP.

Player killers claiming to be PVP'ers are players who use cheap tricks exploits and cheats (like clogging) to get easy kills against easy targets.

So because I use cheap tricks to kill players I am not a PVPer?

Define "cheap tricks exploits ".

Also, how can you kill players while clogging?

Ok so after going through OP's log its clear what happened

...

The CMDR that attacked you is well known to for their targeting of easy targets and unfortunate for bounty hunters... pulling the plug when things don't go their way.
For what it's worth, I liked your analysis. I didn't know about the logs. So, thanks for that. It's certainly a good reference point for learning purposes, and I'll be looking closely at mine in the future. Hadn't seen those vids either, and they gave me some ideas to try out. Thanks for that too. I'd say watch your six out there, but I likely need that advice more than you do. :D CMDR (tips hat)

Kind of sad really, I feel for the Commander who wants to do the right thing and play in Open, but also wants to do his maximum trade or passenger runs - he basically can't so he ends up in either Solo or PG.

Did you even read Harry's analysis of the logs. The OP never charged their FSD. Not harping on the OP, things happen and if you aren't used to it, it is easy to get flustered.

But even with the OP's load out, this encounter was survivable.

You'll get 'em next time Nightbringerx, but might be better to practice in a cheaper ship :)

Like I mentioned before, I am not upset. Just wanted to know what kind of weaponry
could do such damage so quickly.
As for the FSD, all I remember is hearing a weird sound after getting hit , and the FSD not working.
Its easy to hit my jump drive on my throttle.
Will I do this again in open, hell ya. Was thrilling.

The three biggest killers in this game are:
Greed: I have died so many times in a CZ, after thinking; just one more.
Indecisiveness: It takes me 15 seconds to get out of anywhere, in my Cobra. But first I have to know where I am going; working that out, is the time that does the damage.
A lack of confidence: When talking about NPCs. In my clipper, I lose to Cobras, because I just don't understand how to handle it. In my Cobra, I will take on a Clipper; because I know I can.

Are you in one of the passenger hotspots? Rhea or whatever the new one that just came out?

If not it might be a bit before you see another hostile cmdr.

I had a blast doing cargo CG missions in open.

Although I'd get started doing it in something with a cheaper rebuy to get some practice in. Orca is nice because it holds a decent amount of cargo, reasonably cheap rebuy, and blisteringly fast.

But if you've got the cash, cutter all the way. Although the cutter's milkshake will bring all the boys to the yard (people see a cutter and they want to go after it over a bunch of other ships.)
