I can’t take it anymore!

Fdev, I’ve got thousands of hours played on PS and PC, and travel times are killing me.

If you added a way to grind for 50-100% decreased super/hyper-cruise charge and spool times as well as 200-1000% increased super/hyper travel speeds, I WOULD FREAKOUT with excitement, gratitude and joy.

Please consider it.

Fdev, please don't.
This.
Hmmm - given the relative distances between stars in relation to relativistic speeds - (which ED already defies), its ok as it is. Its not an arcade game.
And this.

OP you already survived thousands of hours with the travel speeds (which subsequently already got way faster, at least for jump distances).
Please let the distances be at least a little bit meaningful.

I took my first trip to Hutton Orbital (one more off the tick list!) yesterday - travel time with SA on was a bit silly (but I was making then eating dinner at the time) as after an hour there was still a way to go. SA off for the remainder :)

I'm quite happy to have done the trip, had it been shortened for convenience it certainly would not have been on my to-do list... not saying I'm likely to do the trip again though 😱

Oh no, how come??
It's just one of those really subjective things. I think they actually got it bang on. The travel time to 90% of all stations is just a couple of minutes which I use to check all kinds of stuff: my current missions, local bgs, my stats, whatever.

Those really far away stations? You can easily avoid them.

And yes, the usual argument: sense of scale. Space feels big now.

And sometimes I just do the Hutton run for the heck of it. It would be a shame if that would become just a smallish trip.

I think super cruise acceleration and deceleration could be buffed 50-100%

I'd agree with that. The speeds are mostly okay, but the "Performance Envelope" of getting to those speeds sure could use a little tweaking.
If the FSD could accelerate and decelerate somewhat faster, we'd get a quite reasonable improvement of it.

It currently takes 1m 40sec just to get "up to speed" from the close proximity of a Planet and with no other nearby Gravity Wells interfering.
I wouldn't mind this being reduced a little bit, as it often feels like being superglued to the Gravity Well and especially amongst Player traffic being the proverbial "sitting duck".

By reducing supercruise speed to 75 % they certainly didn't acknowledge space is too big.
Not by that, but by introducing a semi-automatic supercruise approach mechanic.
It's mainly the same as with ship/module transfer times.
If you ask the player base whether they want realism, you get a resounding 'yes', but then CMDRs realize what they asked for and start to moan 'oh crap, this is so dull'.

Heh yeah, in the light of fixing bugs and getting things more stable... Fiddling with something that has been working well for over 5 years is a great idea.
I think they won't be touching it with a ten foot pole. Nor should they.
While it has been working, the term 'well' is only your personal perference.
