I exploded... with ninety pages of unsold Exploration data onboard

I know how you feel ... I face-palmed when landing for the night only 10K short of Beagle Point.

Luckily only had to restart at Colonia but it was gut wrenching.

But I did jump straight back on that horse ... 🏇

Double ''Ouch!''...... if it makes you feel less ''alone'' in your mishap...I've told this story before.... I was coming back from my very first round trip to Sag A* long before Explorers Anchorage existed out there...(using the neutron highway for the trip home) bursting at the seams with hard won explo data including full system scans ... got to Shinrarta Dezhra my home port having forgotten to switch from open to solo or Mobius and BOOM... interdicted... I didn't even have a peashooter onboard.... lost the lot.

Went AFK for a nice cup of tea and a quiet grin to myself (NOT!!... except the tea bit.. that happened)

Too late... I had to shut down the game, so clicked the rebuy button. Waited as long as I could.

I'm pretty sure they have server side saves of your commander. And if you asked properly in that support ticket you might have your commander restored
Otherwise it would be a way to severe punishment to an otherwise really unfortunate event.

You knew you were taking a risk, right? You just deemed it small enough to not matter. But the risk was real and it got you this time.

Lesson in there, I guess?

I am sorry to hear that. It is a dreadfully familiar story that many of us can identify with......except the exploding into the sun bit as I usually pancake onto something rocky. Must have been quite the sight for the great sun gods.

Doesn't matter, they can give you data back and whatever you lost if they want/can. They gave me credits, exploration data and unclaimed bounty when i was destroyed by friendly feds ships with no warning, in less than 2 days after i opened the ticket. In my case it was some sort of bug, but maybe they will help you anyway. You could attach the log also on your ticket, but i guess they will ask for log if they need it.

Dude I blew up on a 1.34 body three days ago cause I thought that descending at 550 m/s in a conda isn't too much cause for worry (I was in a hurry to rush back to the bubble) losing all data I had gathered after realizing that losing speed 10 km above the surface was an impossible task. All on a trip to unlock Palin. It is rare to feel as strongly as if everything just went down the drain cause of sheer stupidity.
However the day after I was too salty to let that pass, so, until yesterday I have been busy retracing my steps using the galaxy map and have recovered most of my data. Haven't ventured as far as last time but did way more additional systems, and mapped the culprit that killed me after looking for him for ages like some vengeful ghost, dubbing him the destroyer of millions (of credits).

If you are OCD-ey enough you can do it too, at least a chunk of it. I wager you were using 3p tools. But 97 pages? Damn...Sorry.

Edit: Wrong picture of my killer. And after the last bookmarks in the outer orion spur there's roughly 1 k LY of stuff I also should recover.

Yeah, learn from them.

And to the people saying he should contact support: stop it. Just no.

Come on, it's a game. It's supposed to be entertaining, not punishing.
And this is the only game i know that can make a player lose months or even years of game progress in a moment of slipping attention.
