I have found Jaques Station!

I'm currently 9000ly from Sol and was on my way to Sag A*, strange this happens while I was on my journey...

Regardless. I'm going to set a course for Jacques and see about investigating for any barnacles in nearby systems, try and see if there is indeed a relation.

It'll take me at least a week to get that far, as I was mapping each system I come across.

If you think about it, it's hard to explain with in-game logic how this information was available in the map. I don't expect Frontier to try to explain this gameplay glitch, though.

I'm going with the fact that as some communications was getting through, albeit corrupted that the station's automatic reporting on population and status was picked up and updated the galactic map, I've no idea if that is how the Galmap gets it's data but it fits well enough for me :)

Agreed - altough this only seems marginally more unrealistic than the weird fact that we've being able to look up the existance and even star-types of virtually any system in the galaxy. ....

No, we're able to detect and categorize stars with the technology of the 21th century, already. We are using telescopes and use spectrum lines to tell which star-type it is. But we can't tell if a system is populated and exactly how many people are living there.

Jaques had 749 people with him. Apparently some of them had ships.:)

Except Jaques himself wrote that:

"the internal log system is working again so I can pretend I'm talking to someone and not stuck out here alone."

"I've sealed myself into the bridge and I've got power, supplies and air"

In the meantime Merlin Finch is talking about "investing heavily in developing our local services".

Either the story is going for some "The Shining" angle where everybody is insane and they're soon going to murder each other, so that commanders can find the gory bits when they get there,

Or different developers in charge of this story did not communicate with one another on how things will be handled, each one did his own thing, and what we are seeing is all that put together.

Sounds to me like they really mean trying to get out there and start trying to repair the station if you ask me.

CG inbound!

ok so meta alloys from the nearby nebula perhaps

and also ice / metal / mineral mining might be sellable in the station, plus emergency supplies from the bubble of food etc

With 750 citizens and up to 45 docked ships in the station when it jumped, no doubt a station like that would carry normally a higher population load, combined with some automation, food and other supplies would be easy enough to keep on tap for a short term duartion. And with enough commander support, station services can be upgraded and then new assets built

Alone as in locked in by himself? or what if Jaques is alone and all the ships and population are under Alien control?

Has anyone told the android winter is coming ?

Winters is coming. Jaques will have data that proves Halsey was right right about the entities she claimed to have met. She will therefor go strait from the asylum back to the President chair.

Hudson becomes shadow president and Winters takes holiday at the hottest tourist spot in the galaxy, Jaques station.

Cly will get the honor of taking her, as the first passenger mission.

It's all so clear.:D

All of them? Wouldn't some of the survivors stay with Jaques in whatever room he's been isolating himself?

OP, can you sell and buy at the market? Who's operating it? OP, were you greeted by tower control? Who's operating the tower?

No confidence vote for Halsey.

I think the 'expansion' log entries are just auto-generated ones based on the systems internal state int he servers - just like the NPC ships jumping into the nav point are auto generated by system status. The other messages are clearly inserted manually though. I'm hoping it is something weird story-wise, bub I suspect they just didn't bother to disable the NPCs and auto-gen system status messages...

I wonder if we can get info on the number of ships passing through the system from the starport services?

You can see the system I am at by typing in EOL PROU RS-T D3-94 and the station name is listed as 80 DD-D 774-CE-2

As of right now I am currently at the station. I ran the ED Market Connector but it isn't showing up under any name on eddb.

Since the station logs mention UAs having caused the issue with the station being stranded and its located in a nebula, I checked the nearby planet EOL PROU RS-T D3-94 3 D to see if there were any barnacles. I have not found any, but the system is quite large and I have only checked that one planet.

The system also has a Nav beacon and it acts just like any other Nav beacon with all of the same ships jumping in.

I have not seen any sort of USS appear while traveling through the system.

If it weren't for the station logs or the fact that its out in the middle of nowhere I wouldn't be able to tell that there is anything wrong here.

I'm a bit confused on what to do next. I'm not sure if they need supplies as the messages state but the commodities market is behaving like it does for any other system and there aren't any missions. It took me 13 hours with a 25 LY FSD to get out here and I wouldn't want anyone to come out here and then find out we need something back in the bubble. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to go from here?

I should have probably added these from my Reddit post earlier two clips from my trip to the system

This one from when I arrived: http://plays.tv/s/KrBYwSDVG3Kf
This one showing details of each planet in the system: http://plays.tv/s/KrBdkKFvLsmb

Well done Cmdr Cly !

NB : the lesson is "In a Universe ruled by RNG, nothing else than random behaviors can succeed."

I also want to point out, that CMDR Cly should get all the first discovery in this system.

Fingers crossed for FDev.
