I have found Jaques Station!

I'm eager to try out, but having no experience in deep space exploration (or any real exploration at all) I'm not sure what to bring to be of any actual use.
Currently sitting in my Conda, fitted for long range hauls.
Any advice on what to fit/bring?

With the anaconda I'd bring a small refinery and a mining laser or 2. Maybe a collector limpet controller in case Jaques gets restock. Take a class 7 scoop best one you can afford. You will regret it if you don't lol.

And an SRV in case you need to farm barnicles.

I don't know if this has been posted already, but Jaques is orbiting a planet which has Pristine Metallic Reserve rings. :) There are also already some resource extraction sites established here:

Well done OP, nice find.

I'd join in with a meet up at Jaques if I wasn't already making my way to BP, and on the exact opposite side of the Galaxy well over 30KLY away. I was really hoping that Jaques would actually make it to BP some time before I arrive (probably a couple weeks away with my limited playtime). Looks like I'll have to swing by on the return journey, by which time the party will be in full flow.

I wonder, could we maybe use Jaques station to build another station there before he goes again? With Pristine metallic rings we could mine whats needed, and then maybe some serious longrange hauling for some Computer components or something like this. Could be a good opportunity to colonize a System very far away from the Bubble!

Surface stations too.

In earnest I would be willing to spear head the building of a new bubble. We could use a few community goals to set up some industry/refinery first then we could self expand from there on out. The possibility to actually put this to use for actually exploring for specific things is awesome.

We could set up a new 'power' here and have it be the "League of Independence" and dub the new bubble the Indie bubble.

Nice find CMDR Cly

+1 never better earned.

I hope you are winging it back to the bubble to claim 1st discovery (or Fdev do it manually) it would be criminal for you to be gazumped on that.

@op, great find, grtz! :)
inara says no ongoing CG... so there's room for a Jacque related one starting today ;)

can somebody btw give me a cram course (or link me to a summary) about this UA,UP, Barnacles, Meta-Alloys and stuff,
as I didnt care much about it until now...

In OA's screenshot the target is first discovered by Cly. Glad it worked out, and well deserved.

First we have to get you back into a ship.

Actually, I would say that this was the exactly right and clever method. All "games" inside ED should be solvable solely by in-game methods, not by using huge spreadsheets, forum babbling and tinfoil hat theories :)

Except... if he can communicate his position to the Universal Cartographics people to update the Galaxy Map, surely then he could also access said Galaxy Map (as no doubt the other companders out there can and the 750 ppl and many ships with him) and thus he a) knows where he is and b) can comunicate - even if just through the UC network...

Sounds to me like FD didn't think about this method for finding him and, if they had, they'd have done something about it.... oh well, its done now. Another inconsistency in ED futureistic technology meets plot.

IM (very) HO...
Keep everything as light as possible. This usually means D rated modules, the smallest that you can fit, but modules like AFMU & Fuel Scoop have 0 mass, so fit the biggest and best you can afford.
ESSENTIALS:
Advanced Discovery Scanner
Detailed Surface Scanner
Fuel Scoop
Shields

Highly recommended:
AFMU
At least 1 SRV
Heat Sink Launcher
Another (smaller) AFMU

Recommended (especially for this "Mission"):
Weapons
Chaff launcher
Cargo rack(s)
Meta Alloys
Mining laser, Refinery, Collector Limpet controller, Limpets, Prospector Limpet controller

I can see why it would make sense to have mining lasers and limpet controllers etc if you were going to out to rescue a station, but are there game mechanics currently demanding these? There are no missions on the mission board for example. Or are we making the assumption that there will be loads of mining missions popping up soon?

Hello my explorer friends

After 6 months of travelling trough the galaxy I managed to visit Jaques Station.
After I visited Sagittarius A* in June 28th 3302 I wanted to fly home. Then I heard about CMDR Cly's find and I was like "Yes! Finally!". I checked my Galaxymap and begun to plot my first route. Jaques Station was 9.000LY away from me.
It took me 10 Hours. But it was totaly worth it.

I'm now there waiting in open play for some players to celebrate the find!
Guys there is a rare good: Jaques Quinent-Destille.
I'm full but you can get one of these [up]

Save Fly CMDR & Thanks to CMDR Cly!!
See you

It is assumed they are going to allow us to do this soon. So unless you want to head back to the bubble for mining lasers bring them on the way out.

Either way Jacques station needs commodities and bringing some metals/minerals will help out a lot as right now it is right next to a pristine metallic ring you can probably make some decent mining money for a good long while if you enjoy mining.

Galactic News: Jaques Speaks
30 JUN 3302
Following news that Jaques Station has been found in the Eol Prou RS-T d3-94 system, Jaques has broadcast a message to the media, having apparently restored communications at his starport:

"First, I'd like to thank all the pilots who came looking for me."

"As for what happened, well...I guess it was a little ambitious to try to jump all the way to Beagle Point. As soon as I entered witch-space, it was clear something was up with the drive engines. And the navigation system. And the power distributor."

"Pretty soon I realised I had a choice – push on to Beagle Point and arrive as a cloud of shrapnel, or drop into the nearest safe system. I made the only choice I could – to push on. Then I came to my senses and decided to drop into Eol Prou RS-T d3-94."

Jaques was asked if he would be making another attempt to reach Beagle Point.

"I don't think Jaques Station will be jumping again anytime soon. The old girl wasn't really built for long-distance travel, and the last leap put a lot of strain on the superstructure. I think I'm going to be in Eol Prou whatever-it's-called for the foreseeable future. Still, the view here is lovely, so it could be worse."

In related news, various members of the galactic community have begun collecting meta-alloys to repair Jaques Station, and will soon depart for Eol Prou RS-T d3-94.
