I have managed to get the Dukes of Mikunn to start a takeover of a neighboring system

Yes that would be cool, but the fact that doesn't exist yet doesn't mean that what we are doing now has no effect on gameplay. It absolutely does - not just everywhere YOU want it to. While those features are fantastic, wait and see what Frontier releases in its coming updates.

I never said it didn't! I'm in no way trying to belittle what you're doing in that system. It's cool to think about, and it's cool to know that someone is doing it.

I just don't feel that the current implementation of the persistent world really impacts me nearly as much as I'd like it to. I know Frontier has great things planned, but as it is, I feel no drive to go and help you bring Mikuun to power. I do hope you get to see something cool like the lockdown though =)

Is your name Mark Thatcher by any chance?

Only oldies will get that....

Mark Thatcher and Duke Nukem. And we thought Elite was old. ;)

Walt I'm planning to keep up the reporting on the YouTube Galnet so involved in that way, but it just wouldn't be right for a reporter to pick a side and dive right in. :)

As nothing spells "easy creds" quite like "just cause" I'd like to offer my services by joining the Mercs of Mikuun !

And I'm very interested in seeing how far we can push this experiment :)

Hello,

Iam ready to join this effort, although Iam currently in SOL Iam prepared to travel to Mikkun and help as much as I can. Interested to see how this experiment will evolve :)

I also have a probably stupid question but Iam fairly new to the game.

When searching for Mikkun or HR 7327 in the galaxy map Iam not able to select the route option, is this normal? do I need to activate something to be able to plot the route to the system or should I try to find my way alone to the said system?

Thank you and have a good day fellow cmdrs !!!

Hey, Ilya.

The game does not always allow you to route directly to your destination. This could be for a couple of reasons, first off, your ship may not be able to cover the jump distances in-between some of the systems en-route. If that's the case you might want to consider improving your ships jump distance by dropping its weight or getting a better FSD drive. Alternatively, the location may be too far for your computer to plot a course to it, in which case you would have to travel closer to the system.

I will add you as well. What is your name in game?

The problem you are experiencing is a computation issue. It can take up to two minutes to plot a 150 LY route. If you are in Sol your distance is way higher than this.

You have two solutions to pursue

1) Select Mikunn and go make yourself some coffee, come back and "plot route"

2) Plot a route to a planet in between you a Mikunn but close to you, rinse and repeat until you arrive at Mikunn

it is a way from sol, the starter systems and the empire, its on the edge of inhabited space, now if the youtube dev blog from david braben was to be believed expansion will happen two ways, basic outposts will appear in a system and expand with time, and planets with terraforming potential will appear and a small port will pop up .... and buy orders go up, not sure if we have colonisation missions, but u can bet trade missions and perhaps pirate killing missions to clear the system will come up currently, the dukes might well expand further. Over time

Oh please link that. Definately something I need to see. I've been going through the archived forums.

Are you sayin that when I select a system and the route button is red, eventually it will become white and give me a route?
I was assuming that red meant no route available.
I installed elite copilot and so far that has given me a route very quickly. But I would probably prefer an in game solution if it exists.
I thought when FD announced the adding of the route planner, they stated it would be limited (I cant remember whether by number of jumps or distance). Are there no limits?

Almost fell into the same trap as @Hungwell a few minutes ago! CMDR Sefrys messaged me to disengage from my cobra pounding!

Small question: Anyone else besides me running interruptions in HR by blowing up authority ships?

I'm pretty sure you gotta be with in 150ly for the route planner to work.

Here's my progress for 12hrs at Mikuun.

Influence now 100%

Been shipping them slaves, food, weapons all day long.

Just received a mission that it's all kicking off in HR73727 & to get over there and destroy Authority Ships.
Ships destroyed and now back in Mickunn with a 100,000CR fine to pay and 22,000 for my troubles.

Doesnt seem to be any more killing to be done, so back to shipping stuff!

Name IG is the same so ILYA VORTEX.

Thanks for the tips I will start my journey tonight if family obligations allow :)

Take care & stay safe cmdrs

Ilya
