I have never .....

I own but have never flown a Hauler.

You might want to sort that out.

It can be quite good fun flying a bullet-magnet, in Open, that does 700m/sec. :D

I have never:

  • Traded slaves of any kind
  • Engaged in Powerplay
  • Used a ship in beta that I don't have in the live game
  • Used a known "gold rush" or an exploit
  • Come across Cmdr Braben :p
  • Felt Elite is a grind
  • Understood people turning the game into a grind and then complaining about it [wacko]

Ah....forgot that one. I've flown the Beluga and currently fly the Cutter and I've never used a docking computer. And will never use one. If I can't land it then I have no business flying it. [up]

Installed for nostalgia and listened and watched how it played out. Quite nice, better than original and more resemblance to 2001 original. Tested with largely unbuggy DC, uninstalled for faster landings and more slots.

Here's my "I have never list" off the top of my head.

I have never flown a Type 10 Defender, Challenger, or Cobra MKIV

I have never fired on another Cmdr,
intentionally. I accidentally fired a shot once at a client during a Fuel Rat rescue when XB1 had a bug with fire groups. [hotas] No harm was done, but it startled both the client and myself.

I have never used a manifest scanner.

I have never found a geyser or fumarole.

I have never visited a brain tree forest or seen the huge Terry's Chocolate space Oranges.

I have never played CQC.

Off topic, but +1 to MoleHD for old school dedication.

I don't think most people have flown a Cobra MK4. I know I never will even if I wanted to.

I have never..
  • bought or used the FSD interdictor
  • attempted the neutron highway
  • visited a barnacle site
  • purchased one of the passenger ships: orca, etc
  • CQC
  • Circumnavigated a small moon in my SRV (on my todo list)
  • There's more, its late and I can't think

Thought of some more since last night:
  • powerplay (getting tempted)
  • docking computer (never!!)
  • manifest scanner
  • beagle point

Interesting that some of these items are on my "todo" list and some of them I have no intention of doing. Ever.

Re: the docking computer - it's worth a go, even for experienced players, for two reasons.

1) the whole sequence with the Blue Danube is very nice and worth seeing at least once

2) in VR you can do this ... get within range of the station (but don't make it TOO easy for the DC) and request docking permission, zero the throttle to get the DC to take over, then carefully climb out of your chair, stand behind it with one hand on the back for support, point fowards with your other hand and in a loud clear voice say "make it so number one!" ... enjoy the ride!

Must admit, if the DC didn't take up a slot I'd pretty-much always use it, unless I was smuggling and needed to land ASAP.

A lot of the stuff we do in the game is aimed at building fancy ships and yet we hardly ever get to see them in action.
Docking is about the only time when you can just sit back and admire then super-duper spaceship you've built.

I know some people would say it breaks the "immersion" but I'd like it if the game cut to a 3rd-person view whenever you're doing stuff like entering hyperspace or, perhaps, while deploying/recovering an SRV/SLF etc.
Maybe have an option for "enable 3rd-person cut-scenes" or something?

WHAT, you have never flown a Cobra mk4. Are you crazy, it is litereally the best ship in the game.

Now where you say it, I think in all the 4+ years I'm playing I've never used a DC and also don't intend to change anything about it. So strange it may sound, docking is the heart of the game to me (with FA Off that is)!

Horses for courses mind you ...

Never have I ever, played as my commander on a computer that meets minimum spec requirement.
My lappy cost £100, has half the recommended number of cores, under 8Gb of RAM and an integrated graphics card I've never seen. Wi-fi connection too! (I did try 5 mins of VR at a meet once though). So ....

Never have I ever seen docking as a maneuver entirely safe from a critical lock up at an inopportune moment.
aka. DC whenever I can get away with it .. and combat dangerous. o7

I have never done any mission of the following types:
- Disable the generator
- Scan datapoints
- Kill X amount of skimmers
- Any that involves the peek-a-boo blue circle POIs.

When I went to get my guardian booster, I didn't even had the SRV turret controls mapped. I like the SRV quite a lot, it's only the SRV-specific gameplay is so uninteresting...

Also never did any of the new scan/steal installations etc.

Let's see - oh, is the "I" in the question me as the player or either of my in-game characters? Beceuse there are some things each of them won't do, but the other one will.

Ashnak will never fly a ship with a red paint theme (preferring green), Azzie will never fly a green one (preferring red). And Ashnak is usually flying in FleetComm or Mobius some place far away, while Azzie prefers Open and the Bubble.

Never done (either of them):
- slave trading or shipping
- killing civilians on purpose
- reached Beagle Point
- circumnavigated a moon in the SRV (but see below)
- seen a brain tree forest
- succesfully pirated anyone
- tried pirating a player
- visited the Voyager probe or the Lave Radio Sidey
- mastered FA off
- used a manifest scanner or a SCB
- used a decontamination or recon limpet
- collected the blueprints and materials for guardian weapons
- tried to solo a Thargoid
- did an organized canyon run
- flown a Cutter, Clipper, FdL, Corvette, Beluga or Anaconda (but did fly a T-9 and a T-10)
- used a docking computer

I'll pass on the various SRV activities. In VR, even with all the small helpers (like the desktop fan), I get queasy after at the most a quarter of an hour (faster in rough terrain), so no base jumping, SRV racing or mountain expeditions for me.

Done lots of things, or at least dabbled in nearly everything.

However I havent:

Done Powerplay
Killed civilians
Never finished off another CMDR afaik (But I have shot at lots of them and had good fun PvPing)
Used a manifest scanner
Pirated
Unlocked Professor Palin despite having him available to unlock for the past year or so (Its effoooooooort to go to Maia) I even unlocked the stupid miner lady before him
Circumnavigated a moon
Seen a braintree forest
Been to the Formidine Rift
Used a manifest scanner
Used any other limpet than Collector + Prospector
Grinded to get anywhere

I wish I was English like my hero Tj.
Never been to Colonia.

In fact, I've never been more than about 2k LY out from the bubble.

Never discovered an ELW.

Never fully engineered anything.

Never completed one of the 'base puzzles.'

Never used a material trader.

Never stayed with a Power Play faction long enough to get any special equipment.

Only works if your Patrick Stewart impression is on.
