I just made ≈300 ARX selling exploration data. I am ED!

What is the credit to Arx ratio? In other words, how many credits did you earn selling that data?
Well here there is a good reference.
Well, I've hit the weekly limit - 400 Arx...
Just sold 50 mill explo data :)
I hope it's not only binded to selling data... if you want to stay away from populated system for a long trip it will be a pain to gain in the arx.

Since Frontier is not selling Arx on Steam, the only way I'll be getting Arx is from game play. I guess Frontier doesn't want any more of my $$$. Lord knows I've already given them plenty! :p

Wait, wait, you are making me worried. I am currently exploring in deep space, which means that I won't sell any data before a while and exploration is going to be my only source of ARX since I can't trade, do missions or anything else. Am I screwed? Frontier, tell me that you don't need to be in the bubble or near civilization to earn ARX.

Just made 24 Arx for 2 hours of game play mining and selling 522 holds of Painite . At this rate I will never hit the weekly limit in a months worth of play time.

Well, I've earned 4 ARX in several hours of Exploration.
And (apparently) 3 of those originated from Composition-Scanning two generic Fumaroles and Collecting Elements off them after landing on a Planet with Polonium.

The way I see it, 99% of Exploration-earned ARX will be from selling only
So one will return after months of Exploration with a low number of ARX, only to be greeted by the 400 Cap.
Assuming ~1000 Systems visited and good Planets mapped, that'd mean the potential for some (very roughly) ~9600 more ARX would go wasted entirely.

If my assumption is correct, ARX vs. Exploration would need a very healthy re-balance pass.
The Alternative would be to sell ~50M in Data once a week. Over the course of a total of 10 weeks in above example - which obviously is 100% unfeasible and unrealistic.

It'd also mean blowing up (or getting blown up i.e. in a GvP encounter) now costs Explorers even more
Returning Explorers now seem a juicier Ganking Target than ever before, being effectively able to lose real money (if you planned on a purchase with earned in-game ARX).
I'd really like to be wrong on that one, but currently it looks like that's the case...

I earned 21 Arx from sitting in the station doing nothing. It pays to be lazy.

Now, just 200K more Arx and I can buy some skins and such as.

Yes, you are F’ed. Enjoy.

Isn't the Steam account linked to a Frontier account? Can't you buy Arx from in-game then?

Seems like getting arxe varies greatly depending on what you are doing. Maybe they should just make it so you get so much arxe per time logged in.

snicker.....

I just tried this. It took me outside ED to my web browser, which gave me the following message:

"Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site. We can’t connect to the server at arx-store.frontierstore.net."

So looks like I won't be giving Frontier any cash anytime soon!

It appears that Arx earning is mainly tied to credit earning. Some other activities also, obviously, but earned credits seem to be the main thing for detemining if you are playing the game. That's not all that surprising.

I just spent yesterday evening good opal mining. Sold my haul. Arx from several solid hours mining was disappointingly little.

For the people who are not getting much from exploration far from the bubble, I have some thoughts.

I was just building network around Riedquat just now and I was doing some fss at the same time. I'm not going to test my theories because it would take a while and exploring is not the main way I play. So some ideas

Arx payout might be affected by whether or not you did 100% system clear.
might be affected by cleared percentage of system
might be affected by whether or not you let an individual planet fully resolve
planets with geo poi might be treated the same as those without (not even I wait on that most times), or might pay and then give bonus for resolving geo poi too (I doubt), or might just be worth more once fully resolved
Arx might pay better for DSS than FSS

so the point is, if you're just banging and looking for ELW/WW/GG/SP, fast-tagging some GG and then getting out, maybe it's not counting what you're doing. So basically, maybe FSS is making your triggers rougher.

I have, over the years, unthinkingly and pointlessly hoarded modules. Not fancy engineered ones, storing those makes sense. Normal ones. I had three size 4 cargo racks stored. A wide range of economy class cabins. A frankly unreasonable number of SRV hangars.

Today, I sold all the rubbish. 92 Arx!

Seems that my hoarding made sense after all.
