I like the game.

So much negativity recently. :(

I know this post won't get many replies and will fall off the front page, but hopefully Ed and the rest of FD may see it.

Well you have my rep and my reply. The game is awesome and FD are doing a grand job. It's always like this towards the end of a beta. People focus in on the aspects of the beta they want and then cry if it gets changed for the greater good (or maybe if it doesn't). Software development is hard, pleasuring (auto correct error but I like it so I'll leave it) everyone is impossible. Don't get drawn in, it'll blow over.

Love the game. ~700 hrs in and haven't really scratched the surface: Rank is halfway to chief petty officer; got an iEagle, AspX and Python; sitting on 200 mil and have hardly travelled 3k ly from Sol...

700 hrs and surface not scratched...how many games can you say that about?

I'm nearing 1300hrs in the game. I like it. That's not to say there aren't things that I find frustrating. Some things are too easy, other things are hard. But it's a good game.

Thanks.

Great game. for me, if it holds me more months or years its doing something right.

Great game,i'm looking forward to buying it all over again for the PS4.
It's not the complaining that gets my goat,it's the attitude that comes with it.
And it's a little insulting to complain a lack of content, during a beta, which contains a plethora of content.

Just wait for 2.3 to hit the live, then the negativity will spike and a lot. Only few have access to beta so their negativity isn't much, but when the rest of player base get access to 2.3 features multicrew, holo me and see the new stuff they will add to frontier store and how they ask extra € for stuff most thought to be part of 2.3 features. You will see it, just like with 2.1.

Winter is coming, but for different reasons.

Game is overall ok. It has its fair share of problems but it also has really good stuff. The fact that it is the only true open world space sim out there currently is really working in its favour. As is the fact that it is the ONLY space sim game available on all 3 major platforms (PC, Xbox, PS4). The day ED gets genuine competition will be a very interesting moment for the future of this game. The dev team aren't really the best though.

I don't know them personally, they seem like great guys and girls and they have some very talented people in the team but overall as a games studio their direction with this game is average at best and counter-productive at the worst of times. Anything to do with graphical elements (such as making the game look prettier, Commander faces, etc) they are fantastic! But they seem very amateurish when it comes to gameplay depth, balancing existing mechanics, communicating with their community, placing placeholders that later become permanent fixtures and they have a very poor track record when it comes to fixing the small easy stuff that would take at best an hour to do - usually the small stuff like the SRV scanner, premium cosmetics not displaying properly or cockpit assets being downgraded gets left in for months without a single comment from the devs.

In my opinion the dev team are far too casual and relaxed about developing ED, their supposedly flagship franchise. There's not much passion or fire in their belly going on from what little they allow us to see of their intentions. As such the game generally hangs around at the ok mark as a video game - other than the really well designed and fantastically fun flight model there's nothing special about the gameplay... yet. As a VR 1:1 scale recreation of the Milky Way Galaxy space simulator experience it is the best thing currently on the market, keeping in mind there are no competitors in this category.

The biggest issue with ED in my humble opinion is Frontier's direction. Season 3 will be make or break for the future of this game.

I also like this game, I play it quite a lot. I will continue to play it a lot. Quite frankly I never quite got over when my Amiga died and I couldn't play Frontier anymore!
Now, where the hell is the Panther Clipper and it'd better be as good as I vaguely remember it was!

I like this game too.

Have been playing on and off since original beta, and the best update for me so far has been 2.0 with planetary landings.

The support team also deserves an honourable mention - I've not needed them often, but they've been v helpful when I did.

It wasn't good at all. It was just really really big. ;)

I've been playing the game for over 2 years now, and just checking, see I've logged 1909 hours so far. Still enjoy playing daily, and sometimes for several hours at a time when I can get away from work. Haven't bitten for Oculus yet, as I've been lucky enough to have a 32" 4K screen for nearly 18 months, but that will probably change with the next generation, hopefully higher resolution capability Oculus, on it's release.

... So, yes, I also like the game!:p
