I think I know where Salvation is...?

that guy didn't get that old by sitting near superweapons going off
i mean he did start taking progenitor cells because he got wounded when going face to face with a thargoid.
so yes, he got that old because he did stupid things.
everybody seems to think he´s some kind of super smart villian.
to me he looks like a bitter old man, holding a personal grudge

Reportedly the Thargoids picked up human bodies from the Bright Sentinel, so we may indeed see Salvation again at some point, perhaps as a drone serving the Thargoids, providing them with intel or breeding their eggs or something.

But I doubt he went into hiding because he expected the Proteus Wave to fail. That's too much of a stretch IMHO.

The wave failed at killing the Thargoids, but was Redemption's plan really what he announced?
His interests could be elsewhere..

We saw salvation in front of the same planet that Bright Sentinel was orbiting in the cinematic. We also saw Salvation witness the Proteus wave malfunction. Unless Salvation altered the cinematic footage to make it look like he was there when he actually wasn't ...

Assuming the footage isn't altered it means there's 2 possibilities. He was in HIP 22460 or in he was in another system but constructed an identical Proteus Wave device which also detonated simultaneously to the one in HIP 22460 on a very similar looking planet.

I think this whole thing of the nebula being mirrored is just explained by the people that made the cinematic preferred the look of the mirrored image of the Bright Sentinel.

I'm fairly convinced he was there, however it meant he was able to park a FC in a permit locked system. I hope the relevant authority hands him a parking ticket ...

This is partly what I was speculating. That when we saw the view of his ship it wasn't the canopy we were looking at but screens that showed what the Bright Sentinel would have seen to trick people into thinking he was aboard it.

Either that, or we truly were looking at the Bright Sentinel and the person sitting at the helm either was already dead or was a "host" meant to look like Salvation while he was speaking over the footage. Maybe the first iteration of Thargoid control over human bodies, and the Thargoids were abducting more humans from the wreckage to further their experiments. Perhaps this was the plan all along? Maybe Salvation is experimenting with this host technology and needed a lot of human corpses to experiment with, so he orchestrated a mass genocide that looked like a Thargoid war in order for them to kill as many humans as possible and then return to him with the bodies.

The nebula is probably flipped because the opening shot is probably flipped. I think the easiest way to prove this would be going to the system and seeing what's visible there.
Salvation being in an FC named Nemesis is probably just a lack of attention to detail. As already said, it's the only command deck asset in the game, and using it would be easier than making a whole new one. It's very obviously meant to be the Bright Sentinel though: note how you can very obviously see planet 10 b and the Proteus Wave from it, and the secondary blast from the superweapon floods the deck with green light.
Oh and editing is a thing too. The way the video cut together very clearly implies that's the Bright Sentinel.

The sound that was tweeted earlier is the same one at the end of the video.
I could see it being a lack of attention to detail just as much as hints towards some mystery. That said...you know that "it's very obviously meant to be the Bright Sentinel" doesn't prove a thing, right? IF (and that's a big if, though I do think it's likely...that guy didn't get that old by sitting near superweapons going off) Salvation really wasn't aboard the Bright Sentinel...wouldn't they (Azimuth) want viewers to think he's clearly on the Bright Sentinel? And the green light flooding the bridge, seeing 10b and the Proteus Wave...it's 3308, a company with as much tech as Azimuth surely could project a livestream onto the windows of a fleet carrier, or heck, alter a livestream?

Don't get me wrong, this is the first time FDev did a cutscene like that, and they may just have not been paying that much attention to detail. But so far, there is also nothing that truly rules out that Azimuth was trying to create the impression Salvation was right there aboard the Bright Sentinel.
This caught my attention when it was released. My thought at the time was that Stagnation might be aboard Musashi, outside 22460, when he pushed the button, so to speak. But I guess with current tech in 3308 that wouldn't be possible...without sending a courier in a ship...

Of course its just as likely that this is referring to the Bright Sentinel, which would make much more sense...

Does anybody know what Salvation looks like ? And in the video all one could see was a bald head from behind plus a voiceover. Might have been him or some muppet... 🤷‍♂️
My initial thought when looking at that scene is that it was Codger, but I quickly ruled that out as he is currently collecting salad samples far far away...

So then I though maybe it was Tharrn or ubermick...but, as Jack suggested above, Arf did say in one of the livestreams that something really cool was coming that he was personally involved with... 🤔 ...hmmm...

But seriously I think that video is the only bit(s) of Salvation anyone outside of FDev (and presumably Azimuth Biotech) have recently seen...
