I would rather be destroyed than give stuff to a Cmdr pirate!

I'm doing the CG at Yum Camcabi (love that name!).

35M rebuy in my awesome Cutter.

I won't give pirates a single tonne of stuff. Ever!

Just saying.

I'm there right now.

just sayin'

Cheers

One word... SOLO! or MOBIUS :)

People are being destroyed for no reason beyond roleplay or simple pleasure at present, so the incentive would be "that they exist." Denying a loot drop makes no difference. It only makes sense to drop this stance that introducing a loot drop would lead to more killing. And if it DID lead to more players learning combat skills and entering the PvP arena, I actually think that would be a fantastic outcome.

As I thought - no incentives.

If Frontier were making a game where PvP was a requirement then I'd agree - as all players would require to engage in it therefore they would expect to be rewarded for being victorious. Frontier chose not to do that, however, therefore the game has attracted a significant number of players who would seem to eschew PvP - and it is therefore unsurprising that Frontier have not included direct rewards for destroying players.

The reason that they are not lost is because the player *has* to collect them for themself - there's an unavoidable requirement to spend time gathering them. This is also probably why they don't drop when a player is destroyed by another player - as the attacker is also required to collect them for themself (rather than acquire them by any other means).

Yeah I know, I was being sardonic. I can understand the materials not being dropped in an explosion, but cargo? Not the same thing.

Not the same thing on one level, no. Exactly the same from the perspective of not directly rewarding player ship destruction.

Y'all like merry-go-rounds or somethin'

Well...more like misery go-rounds

Is there some kind of fight schedule I don't know about where you all just meet up and have at it? I don't have Pay-per-view, guys.

Another pew-pew combat logs from forum PVP ;)

<the lulzbucket sighs contentedly and settles in to digest its latest meal>

Well, for a change I think you actually something kind of interesting here: the concept of forum PvP. The truth is, a lot of (most) ingame PvPers are too busy honing their ingame skills and playing the game in general to be bothered with the forum PvP, much less git gud at it. Those who are skilled do, and those that aren't write and snipe from the safety of their mothers skirts, to paraphrase.

If I understand what you mean by "lulzbucket" I hope you have fun licking the bottom of it. If I got the definition wrong and it's something you would prefer not to lick I apologize in advance:)

Forum PVP is just as valid as any other form of PVP.

What do players do when another hollow triangle shows up in their favourite NPC farming site? Pew-pews will deploy hardpoints and kill or run them off and declare a epic win. They will decry combat logging as unfair and pathetic. Their opponent running off to the safety of another mode is the sweetest of victories for them.

Hey man, don't get me wrong. I'm an exception; I loves me some of that sweet sweet forum PvP. I'm just willing to do something besides forum snipe if you know what I mean:)

I would like some loot, but I'll settle for knowing there will be crocodile tears and a quivering, mucus covered upper lip at the 'ol rebuy screen.

I'd imagine only a few players will do that. When it happens to me, I'm usually giggling and looking for another beer, petting the lulzbucket and wondering if I should blow myself up for lulz again.

I put some rounds, and maybe a ram into them on the way out, the filthy pirates. Add to their repair/rearm costs as I head back to my last stop. While yelling 'Get a real job!". I want a Self Destruct that does damage to nearby ships as well.

P.S. I've also considered carrying some Hatch Breakers to shoot back at the blighters.

P.S.S. No one willing to take their cargo into oblivion with them is going to pout over doing it. Only a special person would really think they do, to gain some of what they crave, even if it isn't there.

Oh, trust me friend, plenty of players do that. It sounds like you enjoy being blown up, though. Would you like to meet ingame and arrange an experience we'd both find mutually enjoyable?

Yes, but a loot pinata would be the icing on the cake.. Still suppose we can't have everything in life.. heh
