See I can get behind this, I really don't like the surface scanner game. What I would prefer is a single probe giving a certain speed of discovery, with the module engineerable to offer:

* Faster scan speed
* Multiple probes

Lore could be the module needs extra processing power to handle more data speeds, and more memory to handle multiple probes...

See... I can complain about things too :D

It feels like the forced timers on seismic charges. Why? To justify a mini-game and rewards.

Why would a miner force pressure on themselves, to set a number of charges quickly, vs setting at ones pleasure and them have some way to trigger them on demand.
We even have a "detonate now", so why isn't the timer set for say 2 hours, and then we can trigger it earlier as needed.

Anyway i both dislike and appreciate some of the FSS changes. Personally i jump into a system, honk, check FSS for earth likes etc, check system map for gas giants with 8 moons (re: TDW).
It's ok, but i agree it seems to have very odd design decisions.

Clearly it must have entered a causality loop, and I must have somehow broken it. Of course I won't remember this but hey.. I can go back to scanning and getting home :D

It doesnt make any sense to pretend its not happening. The FSS is not well liked. People who dont bother posting here laugh about how bad it is. Bit stupid to build on something that people are telling you is bad isnt it? I know you going to say but but but... only 7 or something and the antis on here aswell but im giving you credit that you arnt really that dumb :)

I don't expect FDev to make any changes to the FSS and probe-mapping system so shortly after release. It does make sense that FDev doesn't comment the FSS discussion. Any form of acknowledging that the FSS might not be ideal would be to admit that what they did was a mistake - that doesn't look good for investors.

If FDev, that's a very big if, changes anything related to exploration it will be in 6-12 months and advertised as an improvement of the current system based on the fantastic feedback of the player base. (See system map for discovered systems.)

They could say no, thats not admitting a mistake its exactly the opposit. Investors dont come into it. It takes only a small twist to make their lack of response as a desperate attempt tp deny their mistakes.

A few people have remarked on how the latest changes look designed to exclude explorers from the game. Treating people with contempt makes that look true aswell. Its a mystery really cause why the hell they want to do that? Only FD knows...


If they dont act sooner i think its most unlikely they will act later.

If it was widely derided then there would be a hell of a lot more complaining on the forums. The fact that there is hardly any complaints speaks volumes.

They don't need to say anything and there are no mistakes from what I can see. Maybe something you don't like personally, but no mistakes on their part.

They are not treating anybody with contempt. You don't see them going on the positive threads either. We are all treated the same way.

More then just me. There have been a couple threads saying that. But its the way they completely destroyed a certain kind of gameplay. And completely destroyed any value in locating stuff. If it wasnt deliberate then it must have been an oversight.

1. Money / Shareholders.
2. Their vision for the game.

Vent if you must (if it makes you feel better yelling at the sea), but if you honestly think that a few noisy threads by a few noisy people is in any way going to rattle FD into action, then you clearly haven't been here very long.

I could point you to Powerplay, Multicrew, Offline mode, and a host of other FD decisions that have been received FAR worse than the FSS, and nothing has changed.

Well i wont say what that looks like. Max you dont get replys from me cause for some strange reason your posts dont seem to show up. I come back an hour later and its like the chat has 5 extra posts and they are yours. Altho to be fair i have read what you wrote as far as blatently false and i reaslise i wasnt missing out much.
