If someone from Fdev streams themselves unlocking all the Guardian tech. I will eat my eye patch.

Of course I dig the first part of this. It takes way too long but...

"The modules and weapons should be an improvement over what is otherwise available through min/max engineering (rather than an inferior alternative)"

That would completely invalidate all of players time spent on traditional weapons for PVP and general use. If they were to have done that I actually think they would be putting their own lives in danger from player retaliation...I have not personally gotten to use these guardian weapons but I can say that there is nothing wrong with how the weapons are actually balanced. Guardian tech is meant for Goids but it does have its niche uses in PVP. The weapons themselves seem fine. They do their jobs that they are meant to do. But nobody can get them in a reasonable manner. That's the problem.

Guardian weapons work well for a mixed loadout, - unlike ax which are pretty crap on anything but Thargoids - they just need to up the drop rate of blueprints a bit.
In find Guardian plasma chargers vastly superior to the "normal" ones for pve and pvp - being able to so finely control the power of the shot is both effective and fun.

Come on Stig. You've been pushing the "devils advocate" envelope for days. Doing the same thing you rail against for the most part.

Repeating the same message ad nauseam.

I've been biting my tongue (fingers?) for days now with your inane repetitive rhetoric and virtue signaling..

But to push a narrative of FD living in fear for their lives to step up here and respond is garbage.

There's been no "dev bashing" in this thread since page one. And I've read every single post in here.

You're better than that and you know it.

Lol is he really trying to push that narrative?

Closing on 900 replies and little dev input.
This is what the entire problem is these days on ED.

There used to be some decent banter amongst the dev and players but those days are long gone which is a shame.

I was unaware you can "Charge" the power of your individual shots with the Guardian Plasma...Yet another reason to want them...

Best post of the last 10 pages at least. Duly repped.

It was punished Mobius who raised that issue, I simply agreed with him. People make jokes about Sean Murray living in hiding, it's not really very funny to be honest more hugely disproportionate and crazy but it's based on the real world reaction to the video game. There are people who will go overboard on trivialities.

It's OK for me to be positive about the videogame I get that some people can't cope with that, as I've been deluged with some hilarious personal attacks for being so positive about it some of which actually seemed to be that being positive in itself is somehow wrong. But I'm just not bothered by all that. It's also fine for me to think that by being nice to people you can expect a better response, and to say so. Complaining isn't and will never be compulsory.

I genuinely like the game, so I'll say nice things about it and that's fine.

Given the numbers of Reps received in the last hour from that post.. ( some from ppl who haven't even posted in this one ) I'd say you're far from alone.. ;)

Thx sir.

Oddly enough I've been raking them in as well.

Ah well, now we'll probably get a response, now it's on Youtube, that's usually what it takes, or, y'know, a 100 page thread, whichever comes first.

I wouldn't hold your breath for that it's been out a few days and had it's own thread all along, so it's not really new.

Ya big sadsack. Positive outlook has the CM's addressing the Community's concerns with efficient transparency.

The saddo's are the ones bleating constantly, I'm about five minutes game time away from unlocking some guardian stuff I want but there's no rush as I have healthy outdoors stuff to do first. I'll let you know when I've done the guardian thing and what I think of it.

Going "Oh look a new thread this will change everything" is great except it's not actually a new thread.

I'd be interested to see what you think once you've done it.

It's the dogs wotsists - "The longer the trigger is held, the greater the shots damage" see - http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Guardian_Plasma_Charger - if you get nothing else get the fixed varient - only 8 blueprints.
Two of them at full power make a lovely explosion and tend to wipe most medium npc shields and a chunk of hull out in 1 shot (cobra, viper etc) - players tend to freak a bit at the blue flashies as well
Practicing with these on Thargoid scouts with FA off is both fun and the best combat flight training in the game.

I have done it - and enjoyed it - however I had the advantage of the early blueprint drop rate bug, plus I spend silly amounts of time prodding about existing Guardian sites anyway, so had plenty of other items required.
I rate Guardian weapons the best multipurpose kit in the game and the Guardian site "puzzle" was fun - for the number of times "I" had to do it.
The whole thing is a drop rate problem as far as I can see - though many of the ideas for improved gameplay are of course worthy in their own right.

Ive not had so much fun as you it seems. I got 5 weapon blueprints before i bugged out went elsewhere. While the general atmosphere is nice, I could feel that atmosphere draining away with each repeat. All i could think was, oh i have this much now but i still need thiss much more. Then i would drive out when im done and log out then back in and do it all again.

As for a fix I dont think increasing how much you get is the way to go. You still have the same problem, nothing to challenge oneself, unless you count finding willpower to continue as a challenge. VJ's idea as well as a few others are good ones, great ones even. They change the gameplay from requiring naught but time, to requiring more active skilled gameplay. They would also go a little way to adding a little life to the universe.

As I hope I pointed out - I had a "much" better drop rate - I have all Guardian tech I want (I dont use turreted weapons really) unlocked after 6 visits total to the "new" Gaurdian sites - I probably had over 150 blueprints within the first day - helped by me doing the Ram Tah missions (all obelisks were dropping blueprints on scan at one point).
Something between "80" visits or whatever we are at now and my "6" would probably be the solution I think :D
It's a drop rate problem.

Edit - oh, and there was no indication at the time that there was any "bug" - it was just another commodity like "pattern Gamma Obelisk data" - it came to attention in a kind of roundabout way when we thought they were nerfing Dav's Hope into the ground (but weren't).

Been away for a day or so. Has there been any response from FD yet? I'm assuming that there hasn't but one likes to check.

I think Most people that complain about the GRIND* in ED never played any MMORPG games before.. they are far worst by comparison ..
Play a game like GW2 and once you are 200hours of game play into Enhancing all your gear and unlocking the top stuff then feel free to complain...
i got most of the guardian stuff in less then 20hours..

ED isn't a grind what so ever.. a little repetitive maybe but far from an actual GRIND.
