If Thargoids destroyed the bubble, I would celebrate, because the entire playerbase would go away, and (cough*cough*) someone would have to explain why they rammed Thargoids down everyone's throats. :)
your responses was disappointing. were is your sense of adventure? Every thing in the bubble can be found in Colonia (after 2.4 when they add engineers there) and it would make for a good MMO style event for everyone to move there

if people dont like were the game is going thats on them not the devs

I would stop playing. No rants, or forum manifesto posts... just quit and play something else. I have zero interest in Colonia.

It's not about Colonia .. (example) it's about the struggle of the human race against a superior species. The destruction of the bubble and the forced exodus of the survivors of humanity, a new era for humanity; one of fear and trepidation. A fear that drives every man, woman and child to prepare for the inevitable; conflict with the Thargoids yet again. A year or two spend in preparation as we set a course to reclaim our home.

@OP: From an earlier post:

I'm actually strongly in favour of this.

2.4 - The Return
Thargoids show up with a real bad attitude and destroy everything their path. Humanity struggles to survive. When all hope seems lost, the Guardians (or whoever) arrive and using advanced technology, begin to assist mankind in fleeing from their home.

3.0 - Exodus
Most of humanity is gone; at least 70% of humanity perished; what few didn't escape, were quickly captured or killed by the Thargoids.
Starting a new in Colonia; humanity begins the long painful reconstruction of their civilisation; but the secret is out and the people call on what few governments remain to band together for the survival of the human race. We construct new settlements. New outposts. New stations. We know our weaknesses, and we work hard to ensure it never happens again. Out of the ashes of old, comes the rebirth of a militaristic civilisation. A united front, a united goal .. the obliteration of the Thargoid.

Got a little carried away. :/

Won't happen, imagine how many server reboots would be required? AFAIK all stations were/are inserted manually. The platform to date is not a dynamic system/universe.
I could be completely wrong...

I'd stay in what remains, if anything, of the bubble, fighting until I have nothing left.
I'd rather die repeatedly, than fly to Colonia. Lol

It'd actually be fun running a gauntlet from one human stronghold to another some distance away.
I get that it's not everyone's cup of tea, and it won't happen, but I can dream.

IIRC, they updated their engine to allow them to insert whatever they want, wherever they want without a restart .. it came in with the whole generation shp thing. I could be wrong though, misremembering, or confusing games.. xD

Does PP still require weekly reboots?
Different issues there I guess.

Not sure why PP requires a reboot.
Insertion of assets into the game shouldn't be an issue as long as the client knows where the assets can be found and what they're called.

think about it, a long journey of being hunted by op flowers and such it would make for cool scene !

To be honest, I'd be okay with a nice cinematic showing the last surviving humans fleeing from their home; then the scene fades as the fleet enters witchspace.
A short loading screen, and we start off at a random station in the Colonia region.
No need to force everyone to make the journey I think.

Moving to Colonia? NO WAY!!

I am sure that humanity will have some hidden bases, outposts, megaships that Thargoids won`t find.

I will love to play as resistance fighter fighting off alien invasion, just like in some apocalyptic sci-fi stories.

Even in such a scenario I would imagine they're would be a few outlying colonies to regroup at, and rebuild
