Im done.

I'll never understand why people grind for hundreds of hours, never bother to learn even the basics of the game, only to complain they spend hundreds of hours grinding while not understanding the basics of the game. Has free will gone out of vogue or something? :S

Free will went out of vogue a long time ago. Makes me feel old just to think about how much things have changed. :(

Just so you know (as funnily enough the forum doesn't teach you this, no matter how many posts you make) - your post is very, very difficult to read:

Here's an image of how your post appears this end.

Looks like you might be changing the font colour to something that isn't particularly readable... (unless there is some issue with the default settings you are using).

Yes! Obsidian Ant replies directly to me! (however to mildly bash me for something that the "quick reply" does when you manually quote someone by copy paste - the bloody thing just copies color values).

Whatever it is it is absolutely invisible on a dark theme, so I would not know. Thanks for heads up though. Also, whatever you tried to show me is not there at all :p

hehe - told you it was hard to see!! :D

Seriously though, the image I posted is till showing. Who knows what's going on.

Yep i know its my fault, I didn't think they would actually make it so if I died without enough insurance money I would have to start over again, THAT. It already took me 200 hours to get there lol. Have fun though everyone else :) This game is def just a grind fest with way too much to lose if you make one mistake. Like hitting the wrong button, and dying. Then having 200 hours wasted.

Yes I know you dont care.

FWIW, I do feel bad for you. I personally like Elite for the game it is, but it does a terrible job at letting new players know what kind of game it is.....

Wait, I'm curios now. What did you think insurance is there for OP? I know the game can be rather lacking when it comes to explaining things but I feel like the word "Rebuy Cost" explains itself.

I don't think so. I think grinding requires exceptional amounts of determination and free will to choose it over everything else. Grinders are like modern day Franciscan monks. Willingly giving up all that is good for a promise of future happiness.

No, he just needs to be barely competent to play ED because it's way too easy and unchallenging. Falling asleep is really the only danger to be had - there is nothing hard about the game.

No.

Sure its not the hardest game in the world, but it is not as braindead as EVE Online, where interaction with the game is no more than a few clicks. the computer does most of the work. while in elite dangerous, most people use a HOTAS, which is only used in flight sims and the control scheme can be very complicated.

EVE Online, you can go the whole game without being podded, not even once. In elite dangerous, you can die by just simply hitting the side of the wall in a space station. you would be a liar if you say that you have never died in elite dangerous ever.

Nope it was to have fun exploring and fighting stuff. Nope you def can't do that in a sidewinder. It took me way to many transport runs to get a ship big enough to do anything. You cant take a sidewinder, and go do combat, or exploration. You can't even jump very far in a sidewinder.

Given you thought insurance was just for show I daresay Chris knows better than you - but I guess the troll can't handle an answer that leads to positivity.

So instead, I leave you with this:

FD Support wil probably put you back where you were

They generally give you one free pass. You seem like you could use one.

I fear that the above is probably correct but I really wish it weren't.

This 'mercy inflation' just makes a mockery of every single time a Cmdr refrained from buying or flying a ship until they could afford the first rebuy.

At this rate everything about insurance in the right panel should just come with a large 'OPTIONAL' sign above it, same at the Rebuy screen, and the Main Menu should include a 'BEG' button.

We already have a "Beg" button - it's labeled "Open a Support Ticket"

RE START RE START RE START take the 200 hundred hours of EXPERIENCE you now have and you will be pleasantly surprised how much quicker your progress will now be. You’ve actually done the hard bit be daft to waste it.

The control scheme can be very complicated? - I use a HOTAS and had mine setup in minutes - so is that your argument? That the game is hard because the control method is hard to set up?

I'll agree that the external camera is overly complicated for no reason but even that doesn't take that long to set up.

As entertaining as the video is I have to say the holo me up in the corner is kinda distracting :D

Distracting for me, too.

I just can't not see that face in corner of my eye and feel a bit flustered...the windows are getting a tad steamed and I just can't stop thinking that I love an unusual man that can handle small equipment...

I mean what? Did I say any of that out loud?
