Improved Sandbox Animal Trading

The animal trading system in the sandbox mode needs a significant upgrade to get the perfect animals for you zoo easier. It is sandbox after all, and it would be great to specify exactly the properties and characteristics of the animal you want.

First up is the filtering system. If I select aardvark in animal filters and select male in the sex filter, then I want 4 male aardvark options (even more would be nice, but I'll get into that later), not just filtering the four aardvarks already available, I actually want more options. Same goes with every other filter. If I select a young adult silver genetics rating jaguar paid with conservation credits, I want a list of young adult silver genetics rating jaguar paid with conservation credits not just "none"

Along with that, more filters would be nice. For example, a mutation filter if you want an albino of something. Zoopedia type filters as well, such as biome or continent or dlcs, even if these are in a "more" tab. A source filter so I can rescue all my animals.

Next up: not. just. four. animals. I want a page full when I've filtered my search down too exactly what I want, and alongside that most certainly add a multiselect feature to the market. And a shortcut, such as double click the price tag or something to quick buy an animal (not as important, just a quality of life).

Obviously, most of these features would only be available in sandbox mode. Thanks for reading, and I sure hope most of you agree that this system needs an upgrade.

There have been multiple threads about this, among them also one I started, so I absolutely agree!

A Sandbox market reform is needed!

I want to specify the animal I want, with the stats that I want, with the color that I want, from the origin that I want, with the age that I want, and then get that animal. It's sandbox. This should have been implemented long ago.

I like your added suggestion that you could specify you want x amount of options to choose from. For example: generate 8 female black arctic foxes aged 5 years old. Or generate 5 male llamas with 100% size. That way you don't have to repeat a specific command, and just tell the game to generate the number of animals you are looking for.

Just went through 600(!) red foxes without coming across a silver morph. First batch gave two melanistic and eight cross, second batch gave just one leucistic, third batch gave one melanistic, four cross, and one plain piebald (which, thankfully, has a very distinct icon - I was worried I'd miss one).

After you check 200 of them, you have to tediously sell them all back, then stick the sick/injured ones into quarantine, and then sell them. It's such a ridiculous hassle. It's absolutely ridiculous to expect people to sift through hundreds of a species trying to get their rare morphs.

It figures that I normally don't go out of my way to get rare morphs, but when it's an animal I'm passionate about, Frontier goes all out and does more morphs than I ever could've expected and now I have to catch 'em all. I'm not even going for the rare piebalds, I just want one of each base morph.

I totally support this, and honestly would suggest an option to make it more challenging, too. As long as I can still use it like a semi-challenge mode! (I like to replicate the challenge settinsg in sandbox, with only research turned off. It's such a pain trying to use blueprints but not knowing which animal toy or whatever is causing them to still be locked. So I've been using the actual challenge-mode less.)

Fourth batch of 200: one melanistic, four cross.
Fifth batch of 200: one cross, finally a silver 3 or 4 batches in.

So I had to sift through approximately 800 foxes before I could check off each of the basic color morphs. On one hand, I know this isn't how you're "supposed" to play the game, and I know color morphs are intended to be rare and are often contentious subjects for legitimate zoos, but at the same time: it's literally easier to get color morphs in franchise mode, the more "realistic" mode, than sandbox, which should be more freeform.

The thing about Sandbox is that there is that everybody is able to play the game whatever way they want. So yes, I think it's ridiculous that you have to buy 800 foxes and resell and quarantine and treat and resell all those animals just to get the specific color morphs you want.
Imagine wanting a gold star silver fox.

We should be able to import the animal of our desires in Sandbox. That's why it is Sandbox. If you wanted 6 color morphs, you should be done after buying 6 animals. (y)

I'm having this trouble with axolotls. A lot of people have said the morphs appear commonly but I have yet to find even one. I was hoping to recreate the axolotl setup I had at home before I moved (two wild-type, two golden, one pink). Then of course there's the few times I've tried to find a white tiger. Over six hundred tigers bought and sold, not a white one to be found.
