In game tools to find sell location

When you play toghether you have head set… or a forum; so when you mapped different areas you just say… ”hey, look here I found Diamonds selling for 500k at ….. “ or whatever you’ve being mining or trading.
so it would not be just your “small“ area but a multitude of area’s that you can simply talk and share….
Or, a player and their buddies could just use Inara and eddb, populating it as they visit. And share the info with each other even when they aren't online with game or discord. And have all the other benifits including filtering, sorting, multiple windows open, and ability to look stuff up while in transit without search info getting auto shutdown..

Weird that OP thinks using INARA is cheating but someone using YT is not :)

And how should you learn how to play with this simulator?
Its a massive difference using YT to learn about the the game or using other people information to make money…

just to make you an example.. of what I mean:
I learn from YT that there was a “Egg” (diamond quad sub surface) so I whent to explore, find my Triple Diamond Hot Spot and then find my own personal “Egg” triangulate the location using planet and hot spots distance to be able to find it over and over… THE SATISFATION.
OR
The difference between using the miners tools app to find hots spots or going and find them your self….

aniway Im noticing your attitude… and oneslty dont care… Im a man with other satisfaction in life and dont need to stay and argue with you… good luck.

And i find/found them everywhere by just playing the game, just mining... first read at the forum that they are something special... but never cared about them as core mining overall is lucrative anyway and fun imo (especially with the actual bugs... THAT feels like using exploits...). At the end... never felt the need to watch any YT vids, especially not for hours over hours... that time i waste with playing... ;)

yes, that's commendable
what's not commendable is the attitude of i found something that nobody else found and the general tabloid / clickbait approach
just saying 🤷‍♂️

IF the OP just made the video, put it here with a shot summary, something like: how to use ingame tools in the Legacy game to find good sell prices... well, that would had served the OP way better (IMO ofc)
I'm not going to disagree with you, I admit I have barely read the thread, just skimmed through it, but I for one have learned the hard way to be good with people, and I am still learning. I am grateful for the patient forgiving people in this community, and I hope I can pass on that lesson learned to someone else.

I think Alec's point is that Inara, EDDB and other tools are already doing exactly this. They are tools that amalgamate and streamline player data. It's kinda weird that some people have a problem with these tools because they aren't present in the game itself, yet they will happily use Discord, YouTube and the forums to acquire and share information.

It's like "OK, but where is the invisible line that crosses over into cheating, shortcutting and laziness?" Third party tools just make what is already a grindy, time-consuming experience less mind-numbing. That's why they're great.

I came here and shared a info asking before “what do you know about in game tools” and I had the confirmation that the info gets only to ”A” point but NO ONE said nothing about the squares witch is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT is you what to try and use ingame tools.
To be fair you're playing the legacy version of the game (which practically nobody on this forum outside of the console areas is still doing), and those markers are flat out broken in Live - they often show the wrong colors (blue instead of green or vice-versa) and the intensities change at random as you move the map around.
When a mechanic is completely useless nobody is going to suggest it as a ground-breaking new discovery...

There are different solutions available. Better is subjective in this case...
If I can do the exact same thing two different ways, and one of those ways is less time-consuming, more accurate, more profitable, and allows me to spend more time actually playing the game instead of clicking around on a map it took me ages to populate with unreliable data... I'm going to do things the quick, profitable, reliable way, because it is 100% better. Others may say that this is lazy or downright cheating, but I just don't care.

A resource is a resource. Use them all.

Inara works, for pirates too! We've robbed countless commanders using those trade routes... :ROFLMAO:

It might be for you but not for me… I started a new account just latly and the amount of people I found at Dromi (strarting sistem) and new players around the near by sistems its incredible.. Im actualy finding more players now than 4 years ago..

This is you.. if I prefer to do somthing in a different way why cant I?
for me stacking Bilions its not that fun… my fun its exploration in all the possible forms; so if I can explore and found MY mining spots, my way of collecting engenier materials, my way of ranking with fed and emp, my market place.. why cant I do it? Its not maximising profit per hour? I dont care… im searching a way of having fun and if FOR ME the fun its this who are you to say Im whrong?

Im not attacking people that uses 3rd party tools.. for me its less engaging.. thats all…
I use them for what I need them.. becouse in game tools are not realible for a multitude of things.. like setting up a new ship.. but if I can find selling location with out them then I dont care the amount of time it takes.. I will for sure try!

I remember a few years ago that I found a station selling diamonds at double the price of inara… and that’s what realy catch my attenction..

Fair enough. I can appreciate that, and I do. I'm simply the opposite. I like stacking billions fast. It allows me to get back to doing the things that I love to do, which are combat, exploration and racing, without having to worry about money.

I waste enough time in this game doing things like gathering up spacecrap to make my drives dirtier and hauling flyers for everyone's favorite Imperial waifu for the privilege of being granted temporary permission to purchase her big, giggly shields.

I will say this: While it is nice that you put together some form of guide or help for the players, and you certainly put alot of effort into it, the way you did it is exactly why content creators have such a bad standing here. Instead of sharing your wisdom with us, you built up some kind of fake tension, played a childish "I'm not telling" game and then pointed us at an overly long Youtube video. I have no time or interest to watch a 40 minute video, even if I was interested in the information presented within, and I assume (I have not watched it) the content of the 40 minute video could have been presented in three or four text paragraphs and a few images and thus be accessible to everyone. And to me it seems you weren't interested to share your findings with this community, you were interested to steer them to your Youtube channel, at least so it seems.

This is exactly the way content creators alienate the forum community, and why they constantly get flak for it. A better way would be to just shut up until your video is done, open a topic, and then present your video along with your findings in text form - at least some kind of TL;DW. If you cared for the community and not just the YT engagement, that is.

Thank you for proving my point. :) I'm not suggesting that your method isn't better for you.

Awwww... not online rn :D but high-sell for those goods don't last that much usually (gold/silver/bauxite/bertrandite and agronomic treatment last for more time).
