Installing PC Alpha on multiple PCs?

However, I do have a concern as I have just put an order in for a new laptop... My concern is, can I install the early bird on to it once it arrives in 2-3 weeks, after it was installed onto my current system

Im in the same boat as you. Building a new pc right now wich is finished in about 2 weeks. Not sure if i should install Planet Coaster on my current system[ugh]

I originally bought the the game for myself. Later I purchased the Early Alpha edition, I want to give my daughter the full game when it's released, would this be acceptable? I actually own two different licences of the game.

Seems to be the game can be installed on multiple PCs but only 1 login at a time (that will be checked online occasionally) which makes senses to prevent game piracy. This isn't official confirmation though.

A game will get hacked and released regardless of what DRM they put on the game, if they focus on making a good game it will sell more copies then pirates download, which appears to be their motive currently.

Unless they implement Denuvo, it would hold off the crackers for a good while. Their encryption is solid.

I will wait and see.
I'm not a hacker. I'm not a thief.
If I cannot play offline, I probably won't play much.
And considering that I've supported this game, volunteering far more money than I needed to, that would be enormously disappointing.
I am not very hopeful at this point, since Frontier have failed to clarify this point despite all the discussion, that suggests the news will be bad.

Not a chance. if multiple people want to play then you need to buy multiple copies of the game...

Why does that not have a chance?

It's actually normal for a game to be played by multiple players. Normally you would put your cd-rom in your own PC when you want to play the game. If somebody else wants to play the same game (but on a different moment) the other person could login to their own account and play the game, or they would put the cd-rom in their PC to play. I think it shouldn't be different when the game isn't on a disc, but just downloadable software.

What I would like to know? What happens if you download your Early Bird to your computer, then find that your computer isn't capable of handling the game. So you buy a new computer. Can you still download your bought copy of Early Bird onto your new computer, or is it a one download issue?

If it is like each week checking I dont really care, if we need to check for updates daily to play then just make it online.

Downloaded their Elite game in alpha plenty of times, I doubt that will change here. I wouldn't worry about that to be honest ;)

Its account bound you install the game login your account and play( after that is done you can play off line).
Buy a new pc install the game login your account play the game (after that is done you can play off line).
You have more PC's install the game on the PC's login your account and play but you can play on 1 pc at a time

You cant share your account if you want play the game buy a key and play the game .

I thought this post by Brett C cleared all this up days ago? I guess it's all interpretation but it seems to me you'll be able to install it on multiple machines with periodic updates. I doubt the "periodic updates" will be unrealistic intervals.
it is not cleared up. like brett did, you've avoided the issue of "periodic". for me, monthly or weekly checking is realistic. daily or hourly is unrealistic. if you are always online, you don't care, sure, but i am not always online and i do care about the frequency.

I didn't really avoid it. I did type: "I doubt the "periodic updates" will be unrealistic intervals."

EDIT: I've no idea. I'm just taking a stab in the dark here like most.

Well, you actually CAN share an account. I can give my login codes to everyone, so that they can log on to my account and play. It´s actually the digital way of sharing your cd-rom, you can use the game everywhere (as long as you are connected with the internet to log on to the account) but there can only be played by 1 person on an account at the same time.

So Coasterbuff shouldn't be worrying, and the guy that wants his daughter to play on her pc shouldn't worry as well, as long as they don't play on the same time.

Most games have a user agreement that prohibits pretty much everything you just said.

Pretty much so, but let's face it, it's going to happen, even so ,, if a game is that good, people will buy more to play at the same time, it ALWAYS is the case. (thats if all parties love the game that much and I believe this will be such a title no doubt) So while officially most companies are against such use, most don't care if it's in one household.

Now mind you there are some strict ones out there, off my head Stronghold Kingdoms online, some MMO's that trace I.P's and computer hardware mac address's, but they are limited. I think in cases like this title, it will be "yeah please don't but if you want someone to "try it" please go ahead!" lol or something like that, publicity in most any form to get a games name out always has that "buffer" zone of forgiveness.
