IO to BP

G'day Digger,
Should be OK for today the weather hasn't let me down (it's cold and rainy). See you later I'm currently parked up on the first planet.
IO

I am in orbit around the moon of the first planet...the moon is now named Digger's Demise. I will be on in about an hour (when I kick my oldest off the computer)

A meeting with CMDR Frawd Digger on EOS CHREA NY-Q c21 349.

The Sidey's holding up well.

Change of tack and did a bit of prospecting - Have about 13 Basic FSD injections and/or Normal FSD injections (need more niobium) and zero Premium (lack Yttrium).

Now onwards and outwards to the rim.

A slight pause in progress as I do a system update - an update to optical systems, mapping systems and memory systems - hopefully it will be a bit sharper and faster.

Systems Update completed all data successfully moved across. Planets look a lot better and no system slowdowns reported. Have enough materials for 20 Basic, 6 normal and 3 ( found some yttrium - all on the same rocky moon - all in Metallic meteorite )Premium FSD injections. Currently 33.154kly from Sol.

Just passed the 35kly mark.
I have now amassed 28 Basic, 5 Standard and 3 Premium FSD injections. I didn't have any when I left the bubble. So to explorers heading this way on the Distant Worlds expedition - don't worry too much about collecting materials before you leave as you will have plenty of opportunity to get them as you travel. But if you have an chance to get some of the very rare items from a nearby known system I'd take it. Vanadium and Germanium for the basic FSD are very common. (Yttrium and Polonium are very rare).

I have started to discard stuff or refill my AFMU with premium refill just to make some space for the FSD materials. It fills up quite quickly.

Just passed the 35kly mark.

You are close behind...you will also have a chance to overhaul me too. I will be in the Grass Hopper II again tonight and then away for three nights (wife is dragging me away on something called a holiday...not sure what that is but it interrupts my exploration schedule and I don't like it).

Might do if I stop taking the srv out for a spin! (sometimes literally!).

Currently around the 43.5kly mark. Had some problems with the route plotter (lost the route a couple of times ).

Star density is dropping can't do a 1000ly route in less than 30 jumps (varies from 33 to 38 now).

Last jump of the day manage to overheat - Pilot error - hull down now to 94%. AFMU put to work all 100% apart from Power unit at 95%.

Seems a bit of slog now until BP.

You're about 2.5KLY ahead of me now...but somewhat more west and therefore closer to BP.

Are you going to cross the abyss? I don't have a hope in hell of doing that so am crossing at various "bridges" between the spiral arms.

Where I am currently there are very few unscoopables (had only one in the last 150 systems or so), and while star density is getting lower, I haven't had any problems with plotting a course of 1000LY.

I think I'm well into one of the gaps - I don't think my jumps range is optimum in the current conditions. I seem to be doing a lot of jumps around 25ly -I fact I think you might have been Ok coming this way.

Shame I can't share some of my mats as you might have got to BP.

the path I'm on has not posed any problems thus far...maybe after I cross the next spiral arm...jump range is only 21.47 so 25 would be too far.

unfortunately no giving mats...but I'm happy to see how far I can go without them...thanks for the thought though

Still on track 16.7kly away from ceeckia zq-l c24-0 just over 48.6kly away from Sol.

No jumponium used yet as expected - have 34 Basic, 5 Standard (Cadium being the limiting factor), 3 Premium (Arsenic and Yttrium the limiting factors with Polonium not far behind - I have a lot of Niobium).

Current plan is to reach BP and then help CMDR Frawd Digger get as far as possible in the Sidy.
