IO to BP

"Only" 15.5KLY to go! And just to remind the rest of the DWers how far it is...

The blue circle is Beagle Point.. In case you hadn't guessed.

I was - reached the edge of the Abyss and couldn't find a route - now skirting along eastwards towards you to try to find a crossing point. Looks like there may be a better chance a couple of Kly . Fingers crossed anyway.

If you're going where it's sparse enough that you might get stuck halfway then make sure you're running ED Discovery/Captain's Log so you can easily reverse your trail :)

Slowly edging "east" - I'm going to go about 2.5 to 3kly then try again to cross - gone about 2kly tonight - otherwise it's further around the edge.

Had another "emergency stop" as too close to Sun - didn't understand why though as I didn't think I was . No hull damage - just a bit of module damage repaired with my supercharged AFMUs. All back at 100%. Power Plant still at 95%- Hull at 94%.

Well, this is going well. Currently still travelling "east" on the 5000ish mark. Will carry on to Roncevaux (my original target until I decided to chance the quick route -now known as the slow route!). Probably catch up with Frawd on the other side - plan to meet up with some other commanders as well.

Watch out for a large cloud of unscoopables riding on the galactic plane...pain in the <blanked out by FD>! Certainly a challenge to get over to Carina-Sagittarius arm.

That was more like - I turned "NE" around the 7000 mark and headed out. Easy plotting 1000kly routes possible ( although the number of jumps higher than normal per route). They seem to be dark patches of sparse stars that you can't plot across and you have to go around. I haven't hit any unscoopables ( not in any concentration) yet. Hopefully be over to the far arm tonight/tomorrow. The detour so far has been about 300 jumps ( or roughly what it would have taken to reach BP from my arrival point at the rim if I could've crossed there).

The dark patches may have been the trouble further "west" but are less visible against the lower star density. That's something to investigate on the way back.

On to BP. I'm not sure it's worth posting the distance to BP as I'm still moving slightly away and it's the route looks a bit of a dogleg. As soon as I reach the far arm proper I'm start giving distance.
