This is being investigated, for now you can disable IPv6 and continue with IPv4, please try IPv6 again after next update.
(Even if it doesn't work then, we'll collect some new data in the logs that might help diagnose the problem)

Seems to be working now OK (with BT :))

I will try, but i'm currently in the "ipv4-waitingline" :D

1. I'm one of the guys who have a DS-LITE
2. the AFTR server are often "down" in the rushhours
3. launcher and downloadservers are still ipv4 (FD fix this please as ASAP)
4. as beta still (tries) downloading... hold the line ;)

I really really hope, and think so, this will make my game more stable in the rushhours. i can live with some trade-offs (i.e. don't find or see an ipv4-only wingmate, or other ipv4-only players when the AFTRS broke down again) but it was annoying to get kicked of the game every 2min because of that.

hopefully o7

PS: I'm on german Vodafone (Kabel Deutschland) 200mbit in Munich

zen internet uk here and IPV6 enabled with netgear d7000 router, all up and running so will give this a proper bash later today hopefully.

Connected in a couple of times with it enabled and no connection issues here so far.

An update on IPv6 support:

We're seeing a lot of Teredo addresses in the telemetry we're collecting from the game - almost 50%. (We're just counting game startup events, not unique users - and this is only recording the first 32 bits of the address for statistics purposes.)

We do not recommend enabling IPv6 network in-game over a Teredo connection: it doesn't actually provide any real benefit over IPv4 connections, in fact it makes things marginally worse. We're planning on excluding this address range in a future beta. (A Teredo address starts "2001::" - an address starting 2001 followed by a single colon, eg "2001:470:cafe:f00d::12:34" is not Teredo)

Nearly 25% of game startups appear to have real IPv6 address, but only about 4% of those have actually enabled traffic over IPv6 in game - I'd like to encourage anyone who does have IPv6 to enable it in game, to help us test out this networking model properly.

There's further diagnostics built into future beta releases, so it's not necessary for everyone to send in their network logs!

Hi,

I created an IPv6 Testing Thread in th BEta Discussions to try and bring IPv6 players together to be able to do some focused testing on various features. Plus, where devs can direct us and work on debigs, diagnostics etc...

I'm pure IPv6 enabled at the moment, and it works... although i did get a disconnect yeterday..but that co-incided with me loosing all acces to frontier, including forums (dont know if it was an ipv4 connection or ipv6)..rest of IPV4 adress space space.

mine starts with the following is this ok?

2002:5861:1759:etc.......

ive enabled the ipv 6 in the network options menu and turned ipv 4 off

Wouldn't it make sense, to have, e.g., Beta 2 with IPv6 on by default where available (and non-Teredo) and a 2.01 in the wings that disables it again in case it turns out real bad?

hi,
how do i reset the network config in elite dangerous for ip6.
at the first time of ip6 it has worked and connected. now i get only server unconnected. i think something has changed. my system use ipv6 all tests say ipv6 in use.

so how can i reset the network setting in elite dangerous?

greetings stockard

Actually, wouldn't it still be preferable to NATed IPv4, at least in situations when direct port forwarding or UPnP are not available and the game had to resort to TURN? Even with a… slightly inept scheme like Teredo, you'd still get directly addressable endpoints behind the router.

You start the game and disable IPv6 in the network options. There currently appears to be an issue with 2.01.

don't know if this has been answered but will IPv6 allow the game to instance more players to what it is currently limited to? or are we just testing ipv6 and nothing will change in the future.
