Is there a reason not to buy an Anaconda?

If you're looking for pure utility ship, I guess not, but I'd say Python is still better, because of Medium pad, more versatility, unless you intend to go heavy into exploration.

Personally I don't have Anaconda and have no reason to. But I do have jack-of-all-trades Python, and there's no way around it...

Depends on what you want. The 'conda is the largest general purpose ship, which means that there are other large ships that are better at specific tasks. If you want a large ship, you won't be doing much wrong with a 'conda.

However, I never wanted a large ship :p. Although I occasionally buy (and then sell again) a T-9 for FC operations.

If you missed last CG, getting Cutter would be a long pain, don't even consider it, especially if you're new, and if you just after cargo capacity, be like me and use Type 9. It's cheap, doesn't require any stupid grind for unlocks, looks absolutely stunning in and out, flies like a dream, I have 730t cargo space easily, more if you crap some modules out. Best trader/miner in the game hands down.
