It finally happened.

HA! Mobius... XD

Sorry not sorry.
they used to allow it so I'm curious what changed. Either it's too hard to handle a report from the journal files to determine whether you were in a conflict zone at the time of the kill or not, or they were worried about "griefers" going to CZs in their PG and deliberately picking whatever side the other players weren't in.

It's part of what made me stop flying there, I figured my odds of running into an actual ganker in open, especially with me knowing I'm in open and preparing accordingly when I go to hotspots, was lower than my odds of getting banned over, say, accidentally blowing someone up because my turrets were on fire at will and they friendlyfired me in a res site trying to killsteal from me after ignoring my wing request. Which is a thing that actually happened once, I just didn't get banned for it.

IMO as soon as you start adding in rules to a sandbox game you start to kill the fun involved in that kind of game.

Banning totally legitamate PvP in locations such as CZ's is nothing short of laughable. If I was a betting man I'd say it was more for the reason that certain members get extremely upset when they get killed by another player, regardless of circumstance or legitamacy.

Yeah you'd be right mate, even if you do fly through heavily ganker populated systems it only takes a few fights/deaths before people will give you a little bit of respect, well so long as you dont gob off or owt, but you don't seem like that kind of dude so I doubt theres much risk there. Honestly open is just more fufilling after you get desensitized to the rebuy screen.

Now that's got me thinking about the blight and wondering if it's just a random event, or whether it's actively spread in the background by people unwittingly transporting food from blight systems to healthy ones. Hmm.

Obsidian ant speculated on this but i think he said that is how it works.

So in theory you can intentionally spread the blight to a station. I think it prevents other states and leads to famine.

So, the new UA bombing for people who don't want to kill cops to get a lockdown. Although way less of a pain for people on the receiving end to fix.

... also way less useful for powerplay groups to bomb their own exploited systems to stop other people running BGS there.

Now, a few days later, the system has seen 171 bounties in the last 24 hours and 111 ships. It never saw that much traffic before I had the audacity to put the anarchists in 2nd place at a glorious high of 23% influence.

I dunno who's toes I stepped on but someone has rallied the troops. I just wish they'd actually attempt to communicate. :D

And now I'm re-kindling ideas about setting up a discord or something for unlawful BGS players...

Oh, and searching the system name shows an old post from @Threeofseven saying it used to be an anarchy system that he called home, so yeah, I've got absolutely no guilt now about flipping it back. You don't get to flip a system, leave, then act like the people that live there are the aggressors when they start to undo what you did :D

as long as I encounter those "Purple Python" disconnects, when trying to do something like PVP (even if it is trying to survive a PVPers murder attempt), PVP simply is...

...embarrasing.

it sucks...for the "bad guys" also...because, you simply can´t find out, whether it´s you being "gud" for being able to highwake, or these stupid technical hickups...

I´d prefer a stable way to measure my abilities.

nope, not for a couple of years now.

well, that certainly seems to defeat the whole purpose of a Combat Zone.

It's a war. If you win the war each day by doing one conflict zone and spending the rest of your time sending every CMDR packing so that they can't win any CZs themselves that is legitimate. Relative skill level is irrelevant to the fact that your goal is to win the war and they're there to stop that from happening. Why is that such a dramatic issue for some people.
