Jurassic World Evolution 2: Cretaceous Predator Pack and Update 8 coming 30 November

So there's going to be skins that are identical to models now? That could be rather confusing for players
We have two sets Patterns and skin colors for two different eras of the dinosaurs. Jurassic world and Jurassic Park. Besides I think the Jurassic Park era is the best era for players who love the original films and the designs of the dinosaurs in those films. I personally like the idea of have two different variants and two sets of variant skins for the dinosaurs so this way we can have more variety.

No. For example, the 2022 Allosaurus skin will be the new variant, with the ability to choose different colors. But if you use the Frontier version of the Allosaurus, you can't choose the 2022 skin.

Variants provide new, movie accurate models for existing species. Like, look at the 2015 Kentrosaurus: it can look like the Camp Cretaceous version, you can choose to make it purple in color with the same basic model, or you can just stick with the Frontier model

My point is that there will be the existing 1997 skin for the "JW variant" and this new "1997 model". Both of them are visually identical but only one is customisable.

ok the point is both of them are going to be customizable the Jurassic Park versions and the Jurassic world versions. Except now they're adding the Jurassic Park version of these Dinosaurs as if its a new Dinosaur. ok both are going to be available in the game including customization for the Skins and patterns. Nothing is changing my friend.

I am amazed by this surprise! It's not an expansion pack like I initially thought, but what's coming sooner than I also thought is still amazing!

So that's what those legs belonged to. Tarbosaurus with a Frontier skin combination!

Concavenator is in, which reasonably isn't designed after the statue in the Lockwood Manor since it's just that, and not what that Entertainment Weekly magazine article thought that Jurassic Outpost saw and indirectly spread a false assumption across the vocal Jurassic fan community.

New decorations which were seen in that teaser video, and more variants with customizations! I knew the Allosaurus and Dimorphodon 2022 will eventually get Variant skin customizations because they were classified as "Variants" and not just skins. BUT, I didn't think the JP trilogy designs would as well! At least, some of them. I wonder if the other JP legacy skins will also become "Variants" down the line? Like "Ankylosaurus 2001", "Brachiosaurus 1993", and "Triceratops 1993"?

I'm hoping for 1993 & 2001 Velociraptor variants. And 1993 Tyrannosaurus

To be honest I think frontier should focus on the 2001 version rather than the 1993 version of velociraptor because let's just be honest the 2001 is actually pretty. Also tyrannosaurus Rex I don't think needs it as much as all the other dinosaurs because we already are using the 1993 model for T-Rex for the base Jurassic World T-Rex.

I don't know about the T-Rex, because the JP rex skins are the same exact model as everywhere else. Even JWE1 did that with its JP rex skins.

But I also forgot to say, "Variants" were classified as not just having a new model mesh, but also with other technical reworks from a rig and (if applicable) sound design perspective to go with those meshes. The Dominion Parasaurolophus maybe with some exceptions to it. The JP designs didn't meet those criteria for the different looking model meshes no matter how different they looked, so that's why that surprised me, because I thought if they were going to give the JP designs some kind of customizations, it would maybe be the same as those "A, B, C, etc." color versions from JWE1.

To be honest I think the only version of T-Rex that deserves to have its own variety of patterns and skins is the Feathered T-Rex 65 million years.
But even that is classified as a "Skin" in the marketing posts and store page descriptions of it. So, I'm doubtful if they would go against it or change those store descriptions or what. Besides, it's just the same exact rex model with a feathered plumage over it.

If I recall, didn't the 1993 Rex look chunkier and have a shorter snout than the Jurassic World version?

No. BestInSlot did an old video of it when someone extracted and viewed the 3D models on a model viewer to see what changes there were.

The T-Rex has no single model change to it at all. And no dinosaur or dino design in JWE2 that's returned from the first game has a single model mesh change anywhere at all either. What people though the rex looked different in its model meshes in both JWE1 and JWE2 before they released were actually image illusion perspectives made by how the posed models were taken in the positioned photos.

Man thanks so much for adding all those new decorations and all those species folks have been asking for. Years of waiting for both finally over. Some of those things were many of the prior existing assets I (and others) wanted to see (as posted here) get added as decorations. Do hope vending machines made the cut, but I'm being greedy with how much has finally been added. The benches and bins will go a long way to helping park builds feel more authentic. It's funny I'm feeling more hyped for these over the new species, but I'm so glad for them too.

The new species look fantastic. I would have liked a FK variant or skin for the Concavenator (to correspond with the Mattel figures like the HC one), but still. While I think the quills aren't as accepted for Concavenator anymore I think it fits right at home here on it alongside the JPIII male raptor, and the hybrids. It's a species I and many others have wanted in since the first game.

So glad we got more amazing fluffy dinosaurs with Utahraptor and Gigantoraptor, two more frequently requested species. It almost looks like the Utahraptor even has correct plumage with primaries attached to the second digit, a step up from Dominion's Pyroraptor design with primary feathers attached at the wrist. It looks like it has a Zhenyuanlong styled tail, but so did Pyroraptor. Also super hyped for Utahraptor lately because of the upcoming Cyberzoic (and Beasts of the Mesozoic figure), so it will be great to add this one to the parks going forward.

I hope Gigantoraptor has a social animation like the Dinosaur Revolution scene with it dancing. That would be funny, but I'm sure whatever it will have will be great. It's nice to have another oviraptorid join the roster. Love those colors (and that's one of many).

Don't have much to say on Tarbosaurus but it is nice to have it to complete the Nemegt large theropod trio after Therizinosaurus and Deinocheirus are in the game now. I guess this just leaves Microceratus, Smilodon, and that one hybrid left as far as canon animals?

I hope we get a corresponding herbivore pack in the future (Microceratus, Plateosaurus, anything else commonly requested I guess). More Jurassic and Triassic species would be good too since most of the games species is from the Cretaceous (but I have nothing specific in mind).

Also really glad to see randomized dig sites and even build presets get added. Can't wait to try those out. The automated hatcheries will be great for site B styled parks too.

Only other things I think the game could use at this point is multiple expedition teams (first game had them), smaller fences (decorative or otherwise) for the small dinosaurs like Moros, Compsognathus, Oviraptor, Homalocephale, etc. Edit: How did I forgot about the kelp, etc, for the lagoons folks frequently have been asking for?
