30. Crested porcupine
A full 20 out of the 30 have made it in, which seems impressive. Of the remaining 10, 6 carried over directly (tanuki, Hamadryas baboon, grey-crowned crane, ocelot, fishing cat, golden lion tamarin), while I swapped the tree kangaroo for my actual species preference instead of the one that was already leading on the fledgling first meta wishlist. I’ve lost interest in the secretary bird and Tasmanian devil as my preference has shifted hard towards species common in US zoos, and I’ve reconsidered how well the alligator snapping turtle would even work.
Of those that have gotten in, I’m positive that the moose and three-tied sloth wouldn’t have been included on a wishlist today, and the beaver would be up in the air. Honestly I’m not sure why the moose or beaver ever made it on my list in the first place, I guess I probably just wanted more North American species and thought those were among the ones with the popularity to propel them in. And I mean, they were, I guess.
