Latest stream has more dislikes than likes... FD are you listening?

You clearly do not understand, just like Frontier, how to do damage control in this situtation. There were releasing massive patches each week for straight 4 weeks in a row - so there is no problem with them releasing something the week after patch - they have the capability to do it.

This policy of beeing " Silent " until we have something ready for shipment in the next hour - that is what ruins their effort to recover.
Players seek stability in chaotic times - so things like Road Maps and weekly schedual - is what gives then that. But when you put nothing in to weekly schedual and than releas a Rogue server patch anyway the next day - well you just blew your moment to score some points with the community.

I hope what you mean to say is you have a difference of opinion with me and that while you disagree with my opinion, you respectfully disagree with this is how damage control should be done.

There's probably a list of questions that CMs have been told not to answer: PowerPlay, VR, console release dates, etc.
Its more than that, simple things such as balance, what can be changed server side / client side, problems- in the past I had to move heaven and earth just to get FD to acknowledge game breaking bugs for Powerplay (and get them to fix them in a timely way since it never gets rolled back).

Its like even simple stuff like "what did you change with the BGS?" Just saying you changed it is not enough because a lot of people will mistake changes for bugs.

PowerPlay: Still working on behind the scenes, considering options based on player feedback. We know the PowerPlay community want change.
VR: We've already answered, there's no current plans - if that changes, we'll let you know!
Console release date: Still on track for Autumn 2021.

Dunno - I'd rather have the server changes yesterday and have stuff working than have fdev wait another week so they can announce it all proper like.
But you do you :)

Pretty sure they've covered VR - i.e. no further plans for VR development - or is there something else?
Also I'd suggest that "console when it's ready(-ish) is the best answer anyone (even devs working on it) can give you right now.
Re: Powerplay - what about the last several years of no changes made anyone think EDO would suddenly insert a fully featured bug-free PP?

I'd think that all of that takes a back seat to framerate and CTD bugs at the moment, so asking CMs will understandably get a neutral response.

EDIT: ninja'd by @Zac Cocken :ROFLMAO:

And yet, framerate and CTD is a short term goal, it changes nothing for medium or long term- and PP is a long term thing, since its been left for three years since the last round of feedback.

Oh yeah, but long term goal are understandably going to be rather nebulous - hence Zac's response above: "we're working on it".

Yes, details would be nice, but if they did a stream on planned PP changes for 2023 then there'd be a storm of downvotes from people saying: "I can't play right now due to Orange Sidewinders and you're talking about next year? I'm off to play [redacted]".

Pretty sure the ppl working on the framerate aren't the same as the PP ppl.

I watched the beginning of the SC news stream last night (not live thankfully) - Zac and Bruce really do look like a bunch of guys that don't want to be there, and honestly I wouldn't blame them. At this point in time I'm not sure who the target audience of those streams is - the majority of players, experienced and noobs alike suffer from technical problems, so I don't think soldiering on as if everything's fine is the way to go. Although cancelling the stream would also send the wrong signals... tricky one.

Sally is indeed working extra hard but ultimately it boils down to first level tech support - she can't answer the real questions, and isn't going to fix issues herself; she is there to listen and maybe for some posters that's enough, she might prioritise certain issues while reminding people to raise tickets on the issue tracker.

I just find it difficult to believe that this "new and improved" communication strategy is merely what I described above (the two posts by DBOBE were just lip service, I can live without empty PR speak tbh) - I was honestly expecting more, certainly from individuals who are not part of the CM team but the actual decision makers and strategists at Frontier Towers. Instead, it's the usual tumbleweed & silence, so basically BAU apart from more personalised ticket management.
This is why I ask about what client / server side stuff can be altered. If we are in a beta like testing period why not embrace that and do some low level changes? Nothing crazy, just a few values here and there with players?

There is a huge amount to choose from, like fiddling with say, Shock Cannon ammo- should we allow engineering / up its ammo? Let the community chew it over for a few days and then change the value (if its server side). People are frustrated, give them something to focus on that helps out.

I'd have hoped people could tell apart long term plans for features from short term updates. But then a lot of people are frankly idiots.

Personally I guess the console development makes it problematic to release more big patches. Everything they change in the live game needs to be put in the console version as well during development so it's probably easier to finish it and apply patches to all platforms simultaneously. That's just guessing though, I am not a developer.

When I get back to the bubble, I am going to engage in PP.

I have high hopes that it may be the activity to reignite this bluff old fools passion once more, what what

I also like the idea of being engaged in PP

I won't let others take the PP but I will cover myself in PP.
