@Zac Cocken
Dunno if you can answer this one ;)

Is the planetary tech code in the client or serverside? I ask as I keep feeling there have been some subtle changes to a couple of bodies I have been busy 'helping' the Scavs to leave - it may just be that I've seen a couple of sites in daylight for the first time though :ROFLMAO:

I think some smaller tweaks can be made server side but mostly would require a client update. Don't quote me on that though... I'm not a dev ;)

Hi Boppa, what context are you looking for?

Hi @Zac Cocken , there are no plans to bring Odyssey to those consoles outside of backwards compatibility, which limits the experience somewhat in terms of resolution (1080p) and graphical fidelity.

Given that those consoles would be a year old by the time Odyssey releases, why don't Frontier have any plans to release a native or enhanced version for what is now the current generation of console hardware?

It limits the experience severely and gives the impression of a limited future for Odyssey on console.

I'm guessing the context is not shareable, @Zac Cocken ? ;)

I'm curious. What exactly is the purpose of such a button in your opinion? Just to label anybody who ever uses it just once - no matter the circumstances - petty, toxic, hostile and... what were the other words you used?
Ok. You and many other people have not read and understood my posts or my point.

I have not said that that anyone is petty, toxic, hostile, harassing or childish.

I HAVE said there are ways to provide feedback or criticism that are not petty, toxic, hostile, harassing.
I HAVE said that the behaviour signalled in the Thread title is petty and childish, IMO.

There is a difference and most seem to have just skated over that difference to take umbrage with my posts. I can sympathise that if someone take my points to mean that that THEY are one of the above they could feel put out, but if so they should Read The Actual Message.

Ian, the only milder way a youtube viewer could indicate disappointment (for whatever reason) about a video is to not like it (instead of clicking dislike).

I can't help but think it is you who is over-reacting. Viewer engagement is what's important, that means watching to the end of the vid and clicking either like or dislike.

The thing to pay attention to is the ratio of views to reactions (either way). There's an awful lot of 'meh' going on too.

I read the thread title as 'hoping that frontier understand the nature of how many in the playerbase are feeling' and as polls aren't allowed here it's quite an effective way of assessing player feedback. There are enough people on both sides of the coin who either love everything and defend it unconditionally or hate everything and trash it unconditionally.
When there is a straw poll like this it gives a metric that can be analysed and if I'm reading the OP's intention correctly he hopes the Frontier as a company are listening to the great numbers that are unhappy about the state of play.
As for your point about constructive criticism. I think that is something we all do here anyway but it appears that it's only the slightly more 'upset' posts that are the more successful in drawing a clear response from Fdev. Perhaps that's why OP did it??

Who knows but it certainly worked.

Sorry, posts like these are easy to misunderstand.

I disagree.

It says volumes about the levels to which people stoop.
There are ways to provide criticism which are not hostile, damaging, toxic or petty. A down vote is simply petty. IMO.

I'll let it go. I was just a bit surprised how emotional you seemed to be about something as simple as a dislike button.
