I'm sorry. Your desire to disrupt a system, or any other legitimate game play issue, doesn't rise above the risks involved with direct credit transfer. I stress the fact that there is just one currency in the game. Everything is purchased with Credits. If it is important enough to do, you will take the effort to get it done. Let's not consider convenience above the security of the only economy in the game.
 
Who cares, you will always have less than the guy who trades more hours, so maybe buying credits is a way casual gamers can keep up with the ones in Mom's basement?
I personally don't buy gold, nor do I care if people buy gold, its a game, and I can play group or solo if I am worried about farm raised pythons.
 
Also, let me just hack these players who used terrible passwords and transfer all their CR to my account, which I subsequently put up for sale for real money.

Also, let me hire these Chinese guys to sit in internet cafes and trade up spacebux for me to sell.
 
Um, why would selling credits on ebay be a problem? Plus, how difficult would it be to implement a cap to make selling credits problematical.

Yeah, only gold farmable game accounts ever get hacked, and you'll make more than enough off the 300k players this game has to pay a crew for gold farming..... or you could be overreacting slightly.
 
Make it so credit transfers can only be made from a station terminal, pretty much invalidates pirates requesting credits.
I don't see gold farming being a big problem in this game.

I can't see one reason to reward casual players beyond their effort. Jealousy of others is no reason at all to break a game mechanic. This game in particular is set in a cutthroat galaxy, what's dangerous about sneaking into a big ship without earning it?

Lets get back on topic folks. Yes, we can see how this could turn into a gnarly EVE scenario or whatever. Lets brainstorm solutions that work for everybody and cancels out the fraudsters.
 
i think the idea of trading credits would be a great idea. war is won and funded by the largest bank is it not? by having the ability to fund other players to sway influence would also be ideal for actual ingame mechanics with flipping systems and/or stations. while sure many concerns bring the idea of "gold farming", why not just use the game run its course.
 
meh, im a Mom's basement player then, being retired I have all day if I like, envy? meh. I am considering those who have a limited time to play each day, which is not me.
What dangerous about Trading up to those same ships, mate?
 
I think the game has to become significantly more popular to be at risk of gold farming. If farmers wanted in they could easily transfer 2MCR of platinum at a time to a recipient in a type 6. It's also trivial to implement limits or other detective controls on account transfers which would trip up any significant farming operation. Limiting transfers to in-station or no fire zones would curtail abuses in piracy. It is probably just not a priority in the backlog versus other features.
 
The only viable way would be player created contracts, that the game can verify. If you let the contracts be player satisfied, your right back to credit-sellers. Contracts would have to be created in such a way that the game can process them. That is a sticky situation that limits the players creativity, but there has to be a firewall.

dont matter how popular a game is to have gold seller let money be traded ingame and they will come like vultures to a dead body

But we can already trade money... it just has to take the form of high value cargo. That argument holds no water.

that take more time than opening a menu and trade to said player also player has to have a ship to even hold said cargo
 
Insurance is the problem I see, with 'pay for cr farmers' you could fly and insure the most expensive ships without having to invest any game time, just use cash, which is pay to win and lame, but still not a huge deal breaker for me.
While this could lead to unfavorable player encounters and be unfair it is still avoidable with the three game modes and size of the galaxy.
