Lets Talk Engineers, what ship do you want to modify?

I'm not too fussed what ship I'd like to improve, but I would like to up the limits of the FSD without the mindless grind of harvesting materials planetside. :)

I just talked to an engineer about hypercharging the friend ship drive. He said no problem, up to 100ly hypercharge is possible already. Unfortunately that needs 2/3 of the internal compartments for the hypercharging gear, you need a size 12 power plant to power that thing, and after each jump you won't have shield energy for ca. 30 minutes. But hey, it really jumps far then [big grin]

Will engineers make a sucking noise and go ...."fhhhhhhh, gonna cost you mate, its not the parts, its the labour....."?

I recon the first most popular tweak will be range on the Corvette, FAS and FdL.

And I bet we'll have to travel 300+LY to fetch a wrench that they need and, oh by the way, you need a permit for the system that it's in and, one more thing, you need to meet Mr. X at a precise location on space at the precise nanosecond that he will be there. If you don't meet all these requirements... no wrench for you!!! [squeeeee]

Oh yes, forgot to mention the wrench for mounting the hypercharger is only available at a secret station at Sag A. The station is only visible for a nanosecound at a special angle in the orbit. So no wrench, no mounted friend ship drive hypercharger :D

I was somewhere around Ross 129 in my corvette and wanted to make a 14.7LY Jump. It took 5 jumps. No, that isn't a misprint or exaggeration. I thought the map had bugged out, but it was just my crappy A spec drive!! Safe to say that increased jump range would be very popular indeed on the corvette.

Cobra Mk III, Imp Courier, Imp Eagle , Viper Mk III, Viper Mk IV - better power distributor and better agility

DBX - better fuel scoop, agility, boost speed

DBS - better fuel scoop, break up 1 class 2 into a 2 class 1 slots, better power distributor

FDL - increase jump range

Sidewinder/Eagle - greater speed (>400 boost) and tougher shields

Python - better speed

Cobra Mk IV - better speed, agility, better power distributor

With a larger jump range you'll miss more systems in between the jumps. Really wondering what is so stylish about not exploring systems while exploring?
Because some of us laugh at the notion of considering anywhere within 10k of the bubble to really be "exploring" anymore (Note, this is not saying anyone who does isn't an explorer, but that to us 10k is a days work) and so spend months or hundreds of thousands of light out in the black. Let me put it this way, every single nebula or whatever near the bubble has been explored as far as well can tell. Meanwhile out there, are vast nebula that have never had anyone ever jump into them. I know this because I scanned nearly 70 systems in one nebula without ever finding someone else's name. For the rest of the games history, I will be one of the few people to have basically an entire nebula to themselves. I don't need a lower jump range to do that.

To us, when we are already making thousands of jumps, or over 10,000 jumps in a journey we don't need "smaller" jump ranges.

Not to mention there are some places you simply can't reach if your FSD range isn't high enough.

And some of us don't care to scan every damn ice planet. We look for interesting places, or undiscovered stars, and scan those, take our videos and screenshots and leave.

Really wondering why the idea that not doubling the journey when you are already reaching the absolute limits of yourself and your ship when you are already doing insane amounts of distance is so stylish to you.

So we can assume all of your exploration vessels have a 1 LY jump range, can we?

No you cannot, I have no exploration ships yet, as long as they miss 90% of all the systems because jumping too far en route :D
And manually jumping so that I don't miss most systems doesn't require a special exploration vessel, that can be done with anything.

Give me more capacity in my iCourier and I am a happy man. Okay another hardpoint wouldn't go amiss, but I don't think that's going to be the point of the update ;)

I want to half my engine and system capacitor and put them into my wep cap so I can shoot my ieagle for longer. Infact I may want to do this with almoste all my ships lol.
