Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

I very much doubt it. I bet everyone in this thread could stay out of Lugh for a month, and CSG would still be the biggest faction in the system.

*Edit* Oh, sorry, I read "fall" as "fail". Sure, influence will fall. But from 95% it can fall a long way without us having to worry about it.

I disagree. It is more important than ever that we maintain our position. FD have acknowledeged that they owe us a war. We have managed to more than fill the criteria. Michael has said as much himself. This needs to play out but we should not take our eyes off the prize at this point. It is easy to feel down hearted about things since we have achieved such a high level of influence and I can fully understand that all of us are tired and need a break but we cannot stop. Not yet. We are so close and war is not a presumption at this point. It is a certainty. FD have printed stuff on Galnet. This is proof of their commitment to this story reaching its pinacle. If we drop the ball now we might disqualify ourselves before war can be implemented.

Besides, when war does begin we will need as much of a head start as possible. Players will come from far and wide. Many of our old friends will flock to support us. I have no doubt of that. But there will be those who will want to spite us. Lugh will become a battleground and we need to be ready for it. Simply being the biggest faction is not a sure way to success. When combat bonds start being cashed this will be weighed against our influence. I am guessing the outcome is decided by the final balance.

DO NOT STOP NOW! We have worked so hard up until now. All of that will have been for nothing if we relax at this final stage. I myself am weary but force myself to go on. I refuse to relent. All of us here have stuck through all the way while some of our friends lost hope of a war ever starting. I am proud of each and every one of us. The work you guys have done has been colossal. It feels wrong to ask any more of you, but still I ask...

WILL WE NOW SNATCH DEFEAT FROM THE JAWS OF VICTORY?

Níl! Buafaimid an cugadh seo!

No, after last nights efforts +0.2% is.

When you check the traffic reports you can see on average there are 200 ships in Lugh each day over the last week. The structure of missions have changed offering many new missions for these other minor factions. It is possible that randomers are doing random missions. We must weather this storm produced by Galnet. The randomers will leave. Unless of course Galnet continues to draw them to us.

I ask any who read this and have helped us in the past to return to Lugh and help us now.

We need you.

I promise you war is at hand.

If it does not happen you can blame me.

We need all hands on deck during this last short stretch.

You seem to realise there are two ways civil war can be triggered. Either by returning to 50/50 or by kindly asking FD to do it by hand. The latter is cheating, but then again there might have been a glitch preventing civil war from happening in the first place, or... civil war is just a possibility with no guarantees. How else can you "tell the system" to trigger civil war? Apparently it is programmed to trigger when equal influence between two factions is on approach, provided no other state is interfering. So, it is a careful exercise in power management. Why do you want to maintain/push the influence higher, furthering yourself away from initial goal, I don't understand. Is triggering the expansion state your new goal? Either ask FD to press the button, kindly, this one time, or find other ways within the framework to achieve your goal.

Just a friendly thought.

Maybe Michael Brooks and FD would like to weigh in with their opinion on the situation? It just seems to me the situation went a little outside the scope of initial role-play. Maybe the staff has some ideas on how to put it back on track?

Hi Moriarte,

We know from Michael that civil war should have been triggered from our existing efforts, so we are waiting for the fix that will allow it to go ahead. That's not cheating, and we're also not going to rig the system by manufacturing a 50/50 influence - when civil war happens we want it to have been because of our increasing influence not knowledge of trigger points.

In the meantime (and to keep up the pressure on the devs to get this fixed) we are trying to get CSG to have as dominant an influence as possible.

Hi,

Well, lets see:

This is the known issue for the system. The influence for CSG has crossed the threshold for flipping some time ago, so won't retrigger. We are investigating.

He says that you passed the threshold and civil war won't trigger unless you come back down. What gives you the idea that a system overhaul is due to arrive, giving you possibility to trigger civil war at any influence level? Any indication in the dev. posts?

That's a valid point... In the end it may be that they do trigger a civil war by hand for us, at least to kickstart the system. But we will need a series of civil wars, so I'm guessing that the model is wrong at the moment as even if the first civil war was triggered at 50/50, what about the subsequent ones for later station flips?

So... I'm in favour of waiting for further instructions from FD rather than causing that initial trigger ourselves.

If this takes more than a week or so then I'm guessing you'll probably see some players take a break, do some exploring and then come back when there's work to be done.

No, after last nights efforts +0.2% is.

Bear in mind that 0.2% is quite significant, it represents more than a 4.25% change. Would going from 50% to 52% be good? Well, going from 95.3% to 95.5% is the same magnitude of change. The amount of influence that CSG don't have went down from 4.7% to 4.5%, which is a 4.25% reduction.

It's the ridiculously high influence percentage that makes any change in that percentage look tiny.

If I thought it would do any good, I'd join back in. But hammering that last remaining 4.5% down to 4% or 3.5% or 1% isn't going to do anything.

Warning! A player Cobra Mk III just interdicted my T6 in Lugh space and destroyed me without warning. Good weaponary! Didn't catch his name...

Just saying that recently we have done a lot better.

We are experiencing the effects of changes to the background sim coupled with an influx of activity in the Lugh system due to Galnet.

17th Feb 93.6% (+1.3%)
18th Feb 95.3% (+1.7%)
19th Feb 96.4% (+1.1%)
Patch 1.1.05
20th Feb 97.1% (+0.7%)
21st Feb 96.4% (-0.7%)
Galnet

And please - join us again. We need your help. When war comes (not if) we want those numbers as high as possible with as many good commanders as we can muster lining up behind the numbers that they created.

Hmm heading out in my T6 shortly. Did you choose to fight or run?

Didn't get chance. Mad-Max talked to him - appears he's a pirate who's given up giving players a chance to talk. Not sure whether he's left the system - he wasn't visible when I returned to Lugh after being respawned in LTT 4846.

Mad-Max says he's probably still around and might go after other players.

I just had a nice 10min dogfight with a Cobra... i guess it was your guy. He is good so watch out. Got him down to 30% but i was in a Python so it wasn't a fair fight :p
Dogfighting in a Python after the nerf... not a good idea ^^
Really need turrets on that ship.

We are on GalNet again and i did 49 missions and 10 runs today.

Nice one Mauze - truly Trojan efforts!

Hmmm we might need to keep an eye on this Cobra.

Heading on shortly to do my bit.

Guys i'd just like to apologize for my lack of participation as of late. My job is killing me, exploring takes time, and my fastest way of making money is smuggling, and we dont have a CSG station with a Black Market as of now, so i'm barely dropping pennies into... whatever we drop pennies into.. I'll stick around and do what i can, but i'm sorry i cant do more.
