Joking aside though - I do a bit of development. Wrote a couple of 2D engines in my time (OpenGL). Bit of ios stuff back in the day. Current project - building a 15th century castle (that my family name is connected to) in Unity/Oculus Rift.

Heyho Lugh Commanders,
tbh: I had taken some Days off from Lugh to do some Exploration. I was a little tired form all the back and forth in Lugh with not knowing if we do right or not and i just had to see something else. However, i arrived back this afternoon from Deepspace. So what´s the actual Status? What are our daily Goals/ Subgoals atm? What is needed? Missions/Trading or is there some demand for fighting? Got a Cobra and an ASP fightready. Maybe someone can give me a short Update?!

Thx Sirius. It was good to see some other Tapestry. I´ve been enjoying some relaxed Flight through some Nebulas 8k LY away. So i will do some Missions and basic trading then first. Could use some more Millions

Welcome back! We are just pushing the faction to 100%....trading and missions for CSG only. Same as it ever was.

Signing off. Did about 2.5 million profit and about 7 missions. We have a new big ship in the house

. Just bought a shiny new Type 7 with 216 tonnes cargo space. Amazing the earning power of that thing!

Oh, and I still have my nifty sidewinder and Asp

Yeah I gotta say I'm a little jealous. Working towards the T7 myself. Still in my T6 having fun though.

The earning potential seems huge with the type 7. I would think I could tot up 1 million cr. with three round trips to Belarsuk. That is pretty amazing and will allow me to make more of a dent in our figures and pay for other ships.

That might help to give Mauze's big bonuses a bit of a boost.

But I reckon when wings rolls in Lakon fliers are going to start needing escorts from more combat orientated craft. I can see bands of pirates getting very brave in groups and bullying other players. This is no bad thing and will add much colour to the game but I reckon the golden days of flying your cash cow alone are coming to an end. Even Anacondas are going to need wingmen in expendable ships as gangs start to form looking to test their mettle against bigger ships and swarm that isolated Type 7 or Type 9 player. Rich pickings for all.

Something to think about for all of us...

Yeah, I was discussing just that point with Roybe a couple of evenings ago. The tricky thing is that most of the time (at least at the moment) it's all quiet so the escorts would be wasting their time. Maybe Cobras would make good escorts as they have cargo space enough to do mission runs.

It'll certainly make things more interesting if we actually need to coordinate online times rather than literally ships that pass in the night...

All sounds great Nightstorm. Self appointed propeganda minister for the Crimson State Group

But I do think that flying wings on the same trade runs makes sense. If everyone is trdeing the same commodities then there is strength in numbers. It might sound over complicated but time will tell... When you start seeing bully gangs forming and the whining begins on the forums (and I predict both!) escorts might become more common than you think.

I don't see the attraction of solo/group mode at all.

As we get closer to 100% it's getting harder to make an impact. Even if you play in solo or group it still adds the same to the influence, just you don't get to meet new players.

Plus, people would read Galnet, arrive in the system and see absolutely no-one with a clue.

I think that if we get to a point where we critically need players doing something then having someone sitting in super cruise on comms to new arrivals (or broadcasting which will be possible in 1.2) may be very useful.

This is the key. Do you want to meet hostile players. If the purpose is to test you probably don't want to meet them...

Another more thread related question is 100% influence really required to expand to another system or not... CSG should probably own all stations by now if would work properly.
