Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

If what sirius42 suggested is true (that the boom state has to end before civil war can commence), it would mean that trading also staves off revolution. Could the best course of action be to do nothing at all? :p

Better update the front page post in any case. Maybe make a box that stands out with 'Current Strategy'?

Until we have civil war pending, I'd say it can't hurt to trade. That will drive the influence to CSG, maintain station wealth to provide missions and keep the other factions buried. I personally think we have to go through the lockdown period, not because it's a step to Civil War, but because it's marked as in queue (pending). We can try to influence it down...but it feels like its locked in to be the next step. States should be on a timer, with boom passing regardless of activity..otherwise it would be gameable once it's been applied, i.e. people would get boom, then trade to keep it in play...logically, this should not be an option.

I suggest we stop doing missions all together and only trade until this lockdown goes away. The way I see it we are just going to get lockdown results no matter what we do. Stop feeding the problem and just trade!

Trade gives boom, careful! I don't know if booms has a max time span (I know you can get up-trending or down-trending boom, like LFE got now down-trending boom) or if they can continue forever. But in case the second is true you don't want trading.

Yeah, that is how it should be, but I'm not sure about anything in this game. :D And anyway, continued trading may extend the time the boom keeps going on until it reaches a threshold.

Also, pending does not mean that it will necessarily happen, you can have a pendign state and it will be gone if you don't keep pressing the right levers.

I just wanted to bring this post to everyone's attention:

https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=71327&p=1631481&viewfull=1#post1631481

The galaxy map is updated separately to the details in the system map. Flipping a Federation system doesn't mean that the Federation stop their claim on the system!

We also have another boom in the queue..not pending..but should be on cooldown after we do the lockdown.

How I see states currently

Current state-runs a set time, then ends
Pending state-queued and runs next <unless drops out of queue?>

Any other state becomes the next pending..unless it is still on cooldown from being an earlier current state..or is the current state. Have we seen a pending state drop to non-pending or switch places with another state?

What logically means for Lugh:
We have a current boom state, with a lockdown as queued.
After lockdown we should see civil war, since Boom should be on cooldown as well as lockdown. Unless we add another state to the queue..which then means we have a random choice between the new state and civil war..unless its lockdown or boom. So we are close to flipping another station.

Yes look on page 114 of this thread.

sorry to be a bother, but I read 114 as well as the link that led to a developer wall of text concerning system events, and there was no real definition of lockdown.

what causes it? what does it mean? what changes in the system? what changes at stations? how does/do system authority/feds react differenty? how do we reverse it if it happens?

Interesting times! My current pondering is, 'Can you incite a civil war, without incurring a lockdown?". These items almost happen in lockstep with each other. There are very few missions, as we've found, that change lockdown. Since they move together then it would seem they are either going to happen close together...prior to the civil war, as a preventitive, or just after as a consolidation move. Since they incur checkpoints within a system...does anyone know how the checkpoints work? Are there any checkpoints 'nearby' to check how they work? That's how we can tell if they are desirable or not. The only reason they appear to be undesirable right now is that they add time before a station flip.

I did several "kill x pirates in y system" last night and it always reduced lockdown. maybe we should focus on that?

do we know if the "bounty hunter" or "trader" version of this mission has the same result?

I believe the bounty hunter in anarchy system is bugged currently. Trader works, but I'm not sure if it decreases lock down.

FYI reddit tells me that you can kill wanted CSG targets without hurting rep? is this true? they say it was added in 1.05?

bugged, as in the targets dont show up? or you dont get anything for it?

Me and my sidewinder are on their way!!!

Quote 1: This looks legit...but I am uncertain if we should engage..it would seem better just to kill wanted enemies...allowing the greens to complete their business.

Quote 2: Can't remember! ;P I think it doesn't identify them as bounty hunters? Scanning should show a KWS but past that it's a crap shoot? It might be that the USS's didn't contain anything that looked like a bounty hunter..and killing at the Nav points doesn't count?

ah, yeah ive heard that. you see a KWS, but it doesnt count. ill stick to pirate missions

this is happening in pand a fringe system with a corporate government. No anarchy and we cant get pirate missions, but we do get PCI missions to kill sys auth ships problem is the sys auth ships are PCI to.

You see this is what I find totally illogical about this entire system, you must drive influence to take a station. In order to do that you need to dominate trade and do missions that aid your faction. inevitably this will result in a boom which will deny you a civil war. Bringing weapons are needed to incite trouble and drive influence. How can you drive influence without causing a boom? When takeover is what you want?

As for not trading? That is daft. Our trade should be irrelevant to LFE. They should not be enjoying a boom at our expense. If anything they should be going through a recession as they are forced to buy their day to day needs from CSG stations further pushing our boom while forcing them to import everything and sell their goods ridiculously cheap driving their profits way down. We should be making money at their expense.

Having read all these posts, previous three pages, and what with Master Designer Brookes barging in, I have decided to just hop in a few minutes and see what action there was to observe in Lugh. Boy, was I in for a treat...
I logged out last time in Pretorian (or something, never get the name right! first non-CSG outpost in Lugh), so I popped up there and checked the bulletins first... Boooyah! CSG mission giver looking for Auto Fabricators, and a lot of them, for a hefty salary!
-*- 27 tonnes for 230k paycheck! -*-
Well, I'm a man of small finances. Every credit goes into my ships, the trusty Cobra and my little spacecalf. Who am I to turn down easy money?
A quick jump to Arth, my favourite HighTech system and back, barely 10 minutes work, and the fastest docking I have ever done on an outpost!

I'm sorry if I broke some CSG-Lugh guidelines.
