Lets test this persistent universe and see if FD are true to their word.

You guys made it in an interview with David Braben : https://archive.today/pV7OD#selection-781.0-792.2

Someone, not me and I don't know who, sent this to my inbox on here.

Lol!
There was a system called Lugh, where players worked against the government there, because they wanted to support a minority party. And a big part of it was that players actually wanted to test our system. They wanted to say: “Hey, if we actually do this, will it work?” And it did work. They were able to overthrow the government and install their own favorites.

:p If we had captured the system already why am I here? That interview was from March 4th. Did he not know the background simulator is so buggy that the system wasn't able to be flipped, until (hopefully) now?

I don't mind that the game is buggy - I understand it happens... but I (let alone my group) have spent an ungodly amount of time trying to find the background simulator bugs to make the game better, and in this interview Braben either doesn't know about the state of the background simulator, or is 'misrepresenting' for the interview.... because that hasn't happened yet. That actually bothers me.

Or he was in an interview and tired or swamped or something and wasn't as articulate as he could have been? Just saying.

I hope. But usually you know if something has happened especially if its 'true' or 'false'.

I may very well be taking this personally because of the effort I have put in. I am actually very happy with the devs attention/desire to fixing the bugs in the background sim. I have been irritated for a while about how the game is advertised, over and over again, and this is certainly going in that bucket.

I wouldn't take it personally unless your willing to take it in a positive way. Just the fact he was (somewhat) aware of you guys effort is saying a lot.

The time to do things has been drastically reduced...just saying. So honestly, yes, 18 days is roughly the correct time period. I agree with you, many do not have the time to invest into this type of gameplay. However, there are other things for time strapped commanders to do.

I'd join you if I had the time but, 18 days or so to turn a system with a lot of players is beyond me. I'm not l knocking you guys, just don't have the desire to spend that much time to turn a single system. There's plenty for me to do but, I still wish this was more accessible to people that don't want to spend weeks to turn one government system.

Ahh you ninja'ed in a response before I could finish my slow edit. Like I said, its more about the way its advertised. And by the way its not just Lugh that was having the issue, its was the entire galaxy, affecting any expansion whatsoever, so he should be aware. Also changed 'lying' to 'misrepresenting' because the former makes my statement sound stronger than I want it too.

Seems like my new Ferdie needs to be baptised in the blood of the Federals. See you guys there over the weekend if the shooting doesn't stop.

Solidarity, brothers of the Crimson state.
Earl Rall, servant of the Emperor.

Those 18 days were estimated for a large system with multiple stations and a faction tgat is below 10%. If you have a small system with a 20% minority faction you can do it in 10. Minimum is 7. Because civil war critical sticks for 3 days, and the civil war takes another 3.

If you read that closely you will see that in fairness to David that he never said that. There are no quotation marks are around 'and it did work'. this looks like a journalist taking poetic licence and presenting a quote in a way that suits his own purposes.

Just like in Lugh, never trust the mainstream media! :)

If that's true I will feel much better about that.

There's something rotten in the state of Lugh.

Or the war destroyed sooooooooooo many ships that both LFE and CSG lost almost all their influence, and the small partners are laughing.

I just checked the influence values we and LFE have lost a massive amount:

LDF: 51.1%
DoL: 38.1%
SN LTD: 3.6%
LFE: 3.6%
CSG: 3.6%

edit: ninja'd ;)
