Locked Workshop Items?

Okay so I read an old tweet from the devs saying to unlock the workshop items in franchise, you have to research the items used in that build, for example items used from the Arctic pack. SO. I literally have researched everything in the mechanic section, everything has a gold medal and says "Research Compete" yet I can't build a Grey Seal habitat I got from the workshop??? Any ideas?

Does the blueprint have a guest spawner or zoo entrance included? That might be the reason why it's locked. Try placing it in sandbox first, delete the entrance or spawner, save the blueprint without them again and place it in franchise. Should work fine then

In addition to mechanic's research, it's possible that the blueprint you're trying to use might have an animal enrichment item as part of it, so that you'd have to do veterinary research for the accompanying animal.

(And of course, you'll want to check the blueprint to make sure you have all the dlc that were used in its creation).

Also note that some reward statues might be needed to unlock some items from the workshop.

I've had this trouble and it usually comes down to:

• Enrichment items you haven't researched
• Statues or reward items you haven't gotten yet - this will prevent you from opening the item even if you have the mod that unlocks all statues.
