Long Distance Passenger Mission - Can't Make Final Jump

ED has deliberately given me a passenger mission > 1,000 light years away which needs a ship with a bigger jump distance. I'm one star away from the target and have just realised its nearest neighbouring star is 30 light years away from it and my ship only has a jump distance of 25 light years. Essentially, ED has deliberately me over. I can't even plot a route for this final jump as it keeps failing in the galaxy map.

The target star is CD-26 1339. It has one direct neighbour < 1 light year from it. I'm at NGC 1360 Sector BQ-Y D2, as close as I can get, 30 light years away. I thought about jet-cone boosting from the nearest neutron star but can't find it.

So how can I make this 30 light year final jump when I only have a 25 ly jump capable ship ? Please help.

By the way, please don't tell me this is the wrong forum thread. I'm sick of people doing that - just don't post if you don't want to help.

Jumponium?

Do you have any materials for FSD injection? If you have an SRV you may eventually find them...

Basic (+25%): 2 Vanadium, 1 Germanium
Standard (+50%): 1 Vanadium, 1 Germanium, 2 Cadmium, 1 Niobium
Premium (+100%): 1 Arsenic, 3 Niobium, 1 Yttrium, 1 Polonium

As above, look in your right hand functions panel under Inventory > Synthesis > FSD injection. If you have 1 carbon, 1 vanadium and 1 germanium, you can get a one-time 25% boost to your jump

change your jump from fastest to economical to break it into bite size jumps, if you don't have mats for synthing

Those are the old pre-3.0 recipes.

I don't have access to the Galactic Map at the moment so I can't verify distances. Just in case: make sure that you aren't filtering out any stars on the map. If you are using filters there might be some stars not showing up on the map that could be used to bridge the gap. As others have suggested you can always use 'jumponium' to increase your range so you do have options.

I tried that originally. Trouble is, it's really that last jump to the mission target at about 30ly that's the problem. It's basically an isolated system.

Thanks all. On my way back home to G 203-47 now. Gonna look at synthesising materials into 'jumponium' in the future. May drop this mission tonight. We'll see.

Did it not show you couldn’t make the jump when plotted?

asking as I’ve never gone out and not been able to continue but I’ve only gone as fast as Colonia

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here, but you could always jettison some of the lesser passengers to reduce sufficent weight to make the jump.

Oh, and ED didn't screw you over. Understand your frustration, but "your failure to plan doesn't constitue an emergency on my part" and all that.

As others have pointed out, using mats to double your jump range will likely do the trick just fine, assuming you are capable of 15 ly right now.

There are a number of warnings on the mission screen about what you're agreeing to do. That being said, it's usually a good idea to strip out long range passenger ships as much as possible for situations just like this.

When taking on medium range trips always plot to destination. It will tell you if you can make it. If not, it will pop an "cannot plot route" Good warning sign.
Plot with a full tank, as it plots your current jump range. Not your minimum.

Try to have jump juice on board. It'll save you in a pickle.

For longer trips have a second module kit so you can lighten your ship. Makes life easier. Its frustrating. Been there.
