For me actually you are the contradictory one and you are the one wanting "special" treatment. You wanna to be able to have as much power playing in a 100% safe game mode, while others are playing a more risky game? That's a snowflake right there. Wanna play safe? Sure, but then your actions have a bit less influence. You disagree, I know, no point in quoting back and forth.

Quit pretending "safety" is the distinguishing difference between solo and open, it's a false premise. This game does not have different difficulty levels to select at a menu screen. There are all sorts of reasons to play in either, and nobody is more special for choosing one mode over another. There isn't a higher challenge rating version that offers better rewards, there is simply an option to (potentially) play with others.

This, at least, is honest, "I want Frontier to discriminate in my favor."

The problem with your... position is that you want preferential treatment. Since your argument is founded in unequal circumstance across the whole of the player base, it won't happen.

(note that both inequity and discrimination are listed as synonyms)
Don't forget they also implied that as a MINORITY of players console players opinions shouldn't matter as much. Discrimination is a heavily acceptable concept on their side of the argument

I have a counterpoint: playing in solo, I get none of the enjoyment of playing with other players.

Seeing as I objectively lose this entertainment, it is only fair that, as compensation, my rewards and influence be GREATER than playing in open.

It's only fair.

With this in mind, I propose that solo players get 2x the rewards, compared to open players.

These always start, evolve, and end the same way.
The music is playing, and old dudes are singing.
Scary thought,

December, 1963

sung in the teenage mode... Song sung about events 57 years ago by someone that was a teenager at that time.

I just wish someone would play "Agadoo" once in a while.

Only once in a while mind you.
Leather pants, Hawaiian shirts, and giant fruits. A memory thankfully, joyfully, long forgotten, like that time in Cuba in 95 that some Haitian girl gave me the clap, resurrected, retrieved by a random poster on a forum. Thakyou, thankyou very much.

I'm sorry. But at least Agadoo has some musical merits unlike, say... The Mr Blobby (Song).

Please note "Song" in this context is used as a description under duress, as the English language used to describe it adequately either 1) wouldn't get past the filter, and 2) would get me banned from the forum.

Do not forget that you cannot take advantage of the multiple rewards from, Wing missions, that players in PG and Open can share with other players, increasing a single missions total payout... So if this should be fair, you should get compensated for this as well...

Indeed. From playing in Open, I'm up about 250 million credits from wing missions, exploration data, trade vouchers, shared bounties, etc. ... and, not counting planned PvP fights, down around 2000 credits in rebuys.

That's on total earnings of around 9 billion, so that suggests a 2.5% bonus to earnings for Solo would be about right.

(If you count the rebuys from the planned PvP fights too, that's still far less than 50 million credits, so fine, call it a 2% bonus)

Thinking about this post in particular (ignoring the ones that have gone before) the motivation for posting is, understandably, posted from a PvP perspective (although not blatantly obvious from the original post) which is not a 'bad thing' in its own right, as it highlights a couple of 'issues' faced by those players...

Is open so 'barren' because of players making good use of the block feature, or are the majority now playing in PG & Solo? (I'm assuming the frequent calls for 'open whatever' are made for a purpose)

To play as a PvP'er does require some time invested in making sufficient credits for rebuys as well as collecting a huge amount of high-grade materials (or trading for them) to engineer ships to both compete and survive - hence the x2 suggestion for everything in open...

The organised PvP Community (perhaps a call to @Slange Lands is in order here - she may be able to introduce the OP to a very good community, or at least provide some great pointers) appear to manage supporting their play without demands that everyone join them, or demanding 'extras' because of their choice.

BGS manipulation is least favoured by PvP action - yes, it makes sense for a group to have a couple of their PvP players in open as a distraction, but at best it is just a nusiance for the opposition, at worst actually damaging the faction being supported. So the BGS part of the discussion can be discounted as simply a smokescreen, from my own experience, of course :)

I guess what I bring from this is that the OP wishes to highlight how tough it is for a PvP player to progress in the game so they deserve 'special' treatment for playing in their mode of choice... Well, it doesn't hurt to ask, does it?
