Make the worst DLC possible

Geez I thought every pack frontier has done has been good tbh. Sure some packs there were different animals that could have been implemented and exchanged but all in all I’ve enjoyed every one of them. I really enjoyed the SEA pack. Now would I prefer a 7+1 every single dlc? No not necessarily but a couple here and there are ok to me. I also enjoyed the Africa pack. This is the situation frontier will always be in. There will always be someone who loves the pack and someone who doesn’t really like the pack to a certain extent. I realize both ends the need for more animals and the purpose of some more scenery and building pieces as both go hand in hand. If I could rank all the dlcs at this current point I’d say
1) Aquatic
2) Africa
3) Arctic
4) SEA
5) South America
6) Australia
I enjoyed all in their own way. Australia was somewhat predictable but still a very good pack as was South America. I know people frown on the llama inclusion but I’ve grown to really like this animal a lot. I guess for me the worst pack would be a Madagascar pack. Now I know a lot of people would like this and for me it’s not that it would be bad it’s just when I think of the animals involved the only ones I’d be interested in would be the black/white ruffed lemur and the Fossa. But opinions change and maybe the pack would be a great pack when all said and done. Would I buy it? Of course but when I think of packs that aren’t necessarily bad but rather I’d be least interested in this pack would probably be it.

As @yoav_r said, I might say I don’t like the way you always attack DLCs that are not centered on pieces, but on animals. As well as there are people like you who play this game that like building themed zoos, therefore with themed pieces included in DLCs, there is also a huge part of the Community that desires to have as many animals as posible, and they have the same rights to ask for them as you do with pieces.

I would like to highlight the latter. This is a zoo simulator, not a 3D Tetris one, so pieces should never be considered more important than animals. These animals should be treated as the main content to be requested by us for this game, while pieces should be seen only as decoration, as a complement to the main objective of this game, which is to create zoos for animals, not only to have pieces. This is what makes the Southeast Asia DLC so good, as far as I am concerned.

However, we would like to know why you always criticize the DLCs that include and/or prioritize animals? We believe that with comments like yours, developers may think that animals are not the main aspect in here, but pieces, what I repeat have no sense at all. From my point of view, it’s always nice to have more decoration and building options for our zoos, but never at the expense of animals, although you seem to support the latter to be ignored, and just have pieces.

Going back to the main question of this subforum, I would personally hate from Frontier to make a DLC that contains only themed pieces, or pieces in general, because that would be a terrible way to miss out on a great opportunity to include animals that many of us are longing for since the announcement of this game. Therefore, the best DLCs for me would be those that include the official developer versions of all animal mods created to date, as well as all animals mentioned in the wish lists on this forum.

I don’t know if you will answer to this comment since you have ignored us before in other subforums, myself included.

Still, I would like that you would act differently this time, so please explain to us why you seem to be againts official game animals so much.

Nevertheless, I hope you don’t take this comment the wrong way, it’s just the opinion a few of us have of what we have seen from your comments on this forum for a long time now. Of course we could be wrong, but if so, them please correct us.
i uh
didn’t realize my joke would garner this much of a response lol
for the record - v much on board for NA to be an animal pack but current situation seems unlikely which violently upsets me
also i don’t respond to ~every single thing~ bc the forum setup is clunky and i don’t really have the time to read or respond so i’m sorry for that lol

:ROFLMAO:
Well, we actually got a Feral dog pack.... It's just that it came along some other cooler Australian animals ;)
Dingoes aren't feral dogs. I think I've seen you perpetuate this myth a few times but it's simply false. Feral refers to a domestic animal that lives in the wild, such as a housecat that lost its owners or a street dog. Dingoes were possibly domestic dogs once upon a time but became a separate subspecies from C. l. familiaris thousands of years ago.

Could we calm down?
It was an obvious joke, besides many of the things you stated were subjective opinions or flat out wrong.
This is not just a Zoo game, but also a building game, with the appeal of both ballanicing around 50/50, while the subjektiv opinion can vary wildly about that.
Everyone has diffrent priorities, even if you dont agree with them.
Every opinion is valid, but this reads in part more like a personal attack against leaf and other ccs that prefer the building side, probably spawned from frustration or fear that frontier will listen to the loudest voices in the community, even though you dont agree with them.
Pls be more respecting of other people opinions or jokes, as this text was uncalled for and out of proportion.
You dont have to like or even understand the other persons point of view, but starting a discussion about the opinion of one person in particular helps no one.
Sry for the not on topic message

Yea, probably NA pack is going to be standard format like every other continent dlc or next pack will be taken into different direction. December release will be for animal only people.

As @Leaf Productions has said, I might say I don’t like the way you always attack comments that are clearly satirical, not being serious. As well as there are people like you who don't have a sense of humor, therefore should probably not be on the internet, there is also a huge part of the Community that does, and they have the same rights to make posts as you do.

I would like to highlight the latter. This is an internet forum, not a political debate, so posts should never be considered 100% true. These posts should be treated as fun commentary to be viewed by us, while you seemingly view them as an objective fact, disregarding one of the main points of this topic, this forum, and the wider internet in general, which is to spark fun conversation, not only as a means to debate. This is what makes your comment very hypocritical, as far as I am concerned.

However, ! would like to know why you feel the need to criticize posts like this that include and/or prioritize satire? I believe that with comments like yours, others might lose sight of the clear light-hearted nature of the post, and instead get annoyed at it like you did, what I repeat have no sense at all. From my point of view, it’s always nice to have some of these light-hearted comments in forums, but never at the expense of an argument, although you seem to support the latter to be ignored, and just argue because of them.

I don’t know if you will answer to this comment since you might get annoyed at this as well, which wouldn't surprise me.

Still, I would like that you would act differently this time, so please explain to me why you seem to be againts satire so much.

Well, maybe you both might have misunderstood my comment. I am sorry if this has sounded as a personal attack to @Leaf Productions. I didn’t mean to sound disrespectful, I was just giving my opinion on what some of us has interpreted from his comments.

In fact, considering what you @KönigDerKaffeebohnen said about being the loudest voices, I want to explain why I wrote this and the main reason is that a lot of people and I don’t want the developers to think we don’t care about animals anymore. However, I really appreciate you @Leaf Productions to have answered me while stating that you prefer the NA DLC to be more focus on animals.

Also, I was just trying to share my vision as I believe this game seems to be losing its way from being about animals and starting to move towards just constructions. I love not just using building pieces but watching people use them to make amazing creations, and I was never against people who prefer to do it rather than focus on animals as I do believe this is a game that gives the opportunity to everyone to play it the way they like it the most.

I just wanted to ask everyone with the loudest voices to never let the realistic animal aspects of this game die.

Nevertheless, to sum up, I never wanted my opinion to be misunderstood as a personal attack, as it was just a friendly question and opinion. I really love hearing everyone’s opinions on this game and seeing how they use it, and I will always think that everyone can play this game according to their preferences, even if it means that they prioritize the pieces over the animals.

Eh, Satire and sarcasm do not always read well on the internet.

On the other hand, I am one of the people that would gladly throw most of the pieces under the bus if it meant more animals. Dont get me wrong, I love the pieces, but if its animals or pieces, I will always advocate for more animals. So I kind understand the euthiasm in defending the animals packs, because I would hate to see the devs thinking, look, they did not like the animal pack, let not make them anymore. Would be a real shame.

Sorry to say that, but you really didnt archieve anything.
Im Not saying that you had any bad intentions, i myself am very passionate about planet Zoo and i can see that you are too, but there were multiple problems With your message, the major ones being, that is was written in a hostile we vs you tone and basicly saying that leaf is as an cc Not entitled to his own opinions, but to represent what you deem to be what the majority of the players, the "we", wants.
Im Not saying this was done with malicious intend, but atleast subconciesly this message was written to pressure leaf into becoming one of your "we".
The other main problem is the context.
This is a thread for posting about what we wouldnt want as a pack, just look on the answers, most of them were mend to be funny in a way, satirical you could say, leafs comment being no diffrent.
This is not the right place to talk about what you think the ccs should or should not be talking about and a joke answer doesnt change that.
If you want to talk about your problems with ccs and whats most important to you in planet Zoo Do that! Thats totally fine and by far wouldnt have stood out that negativly If you would have done it in its own thread.
I dont agree with most of the generalisation that you saying, but thats okay, thats your opinion.
But i hope what you can agree on was that this really was the wrong place and the wrong reason for that message and hopefully also that everybody here is entitled to their own opinion and should not be forced or pressured otherwise.
And now lets end this or move to another thread, this really doesnt belong here.

Reskin pack (all these will follow the Malayan tapir route. Yay. [The irony is in would actually love these. Just pretend that they are literal reskins]):

Nile crocodile
Leopard
Red wolf
Coyote
American black bear

The price: $42 (because 42 is the answer to everything)
I want a Roedeer where they did nothing else than changing the Texture of the Reindeer 😂

I guess for me the worst pack would be a Madagascar pack
Actually similar thoughts on this, same as the island pack suggestion some people made. Not the worst but personally some of the least appealing species for PZ.
I know some people would be very happy but everybody has their own preferences:

Worst DLC would be an expansion pack DLC with only 1 species: (copy/pasted Random's Goat list)
First hype up the introduction of a first expansion pack with 20 species and share this list later on:

1. Dama Gazelle
2. Arabian Sand Gazelle
3. Chinkara
4. Erlanger's Gazelle
5. Dorcas Gazelle
6. Mountain Gazelle
7. Rhim Gazelle
8. Speke's Gazelle
9. Goitered Gazelle
10. Tibetan Gazelle
11. Arabian Gazelle
12. Cuvier's Gazelle
13. Heuglin's Gazelle
14. Red-fronted Gazelle
15. Mongalla Gazelle
16. Red Gazelle
17. Grant's Gazelle
18. Soemmerring's Gazelle
19. Przewalski's Gazelle
20. Mongolian Gazelle

Ok, I have another:

The Impossible to Keep in Captivity pack (I think the irony of this one is that these are species that we'd love, but since many of us [myself included, at times] like to build realistic zoos, this would be horrible for those players. But, I love all these animals, and if PZ ever lasts so long they begin doing "fantasy" packs [like this. Not literally fantasy], I would get it):

  1. Kakapo - according to @NZFanatic, they aren't found in captivity
  2. Indri (lemur) - so, apparently, these struggle in captivity. Not 1 has survived for more than a year
  3. Javan rhinoceros - ah, ZT2 nostalgia. I love these animals, so they would be perfect in this pack (maybe as the flagship species)
  4. Mountain gorilla - ah, our "clone" (I guess a 2nd clone compared to the rhino)
  5. Saiga - a proboscis antelope. Would fit well with the proboscis monkey
Price: $42 (because $42 is the answer. It has to be. That or maybe $62. Which do y'all prefer? To pay $42 for this or $62?)

Just to clarify, they probably could be kept, but as of now it's illegal due to the ongoing and intensive conservation efforts for them. It isn't so much a case of "this animal will die if kept in captivity" rather than "this animal's conservation has been successful where it is, so let's not fix what isn't broken".
Ok, lemme update it
