Making Credits - Very slow time consuming process - i.e. Ships cost way to much

I except to have an Anaconda in.... about 10 years time perhaps... if i work hard at it.

And i'm absolutely fine with that. Its not a race to the most expensive ship.

My vague aim at the moment is to work my way to an Asp. I can almost afford the shell, but it will be a while before i can afford the upgrades, so im just bimbling around, trying out different things, enjoying the sights... still need to find a home for my commander, not decided yet.

I think the pricing is fine, but we definitely need more mid-tier ships, around the 2M and 10M credits area, it should take a long time to get to an Anaconda, but it'd be nice to be able to mix it up around the middle, rather than simply "totally outfit this ship, trade it in for the next, but barebones, repeat".

I guess all i can really hope for is a balencing in the moduals and ship prices or bounties and black markets and such. cause if you not a hauler and do play the game 8 hours a day youll be stuck with the ASP for a very very long time if you manage to get that lol, a decent mid ship market will def come to us in the future.

We know that there'll eventually be a total of 30 ships in the game, at least that's the number FD have confirmed, there could be even more in the long run.

Some of the current gaps in ship prices will be bridged by these "yet to be released" ships.

I suggest we wait for that before messing with the rate of cr earning.

If thease mid market ships come sooner that later i totaly agree with you. im just tired of the cobra since switched to the viper atm and kitting it out.

Neone else aside from the people the have been playing since gamma get enough credits to buy aything bigger with decent fittings than a cobra or asp or equivalent hauler ship?

i find grinding for the credits needed to purchase anything cool a very long process "even doing hauling with 100 ton cargo @ 150k per run" it would take months to get into a cool ship i.e Python. now im assumming most people dont dedicate thier lives to this game just to fly a cool ship, and the people that do well good for you but i have a job and so on and dont ever see myself in the forseeable futer ever being able to own one of thease. and thats just not cool.

aneone else have an issue with this?

I started playing on December 19th and I have no issues with the cost of ships. Every player shouldn't be able to afford the best ship in the game two weeks into release or there would be nothing to work towards. I'm currently flying an asp and trying to save up for the A class Thrusters, which cost more alone than a fully upgraded Cobra haha

And if i could dedicate 8 hours to this game a day fine, then a i would grind away as i have nothing else better to do. that however is not that case

I think perhaps you missed this part?

As an example... Last night I racked up over 250k in credits in an hour or so. It can be slow at times... if I find that I'm sitting in the beacon for more than 2 minutes with no fighting... just exit the beacon... fly away a bit and re-enter it.

250k in an hour is not shabby, is it? Anyone?

Heck I'm already above 2million in assets; a fully upgraded sidewinder, a mid-range hauler and a viper that takes down Eagles in less than 4 seconds.

I definitely don't have 8 hours a day to play, but I also don't expect a million bucks in an hour, either.

Perhaps that's the disconnect?

It should take a long time to get a monster ship like the python. If it didn't, everyone would have one and that would be bad. This is a long term game.

I still think the progression is too fast. Took me two weeks to buy an asp and max it out, and I could trade it in for a basic imperial clipper already.

yes i never said "even Once" i wanted everything right away, i wish people would at least read my posts befor commenting.

I have been playing since the 16th and have a Cobra and current assets of over 4.5M I have gained over 6M though but brought an Adder kitted it out, sold it and brought another Adder...also had a few fines.

I have grinded 3-4M from trading and have over 1.5M from bouties now which is much more fun. The new updates to the trading are a good way to make cash, remove your shield and go for broke for a bit. I had 60 tonnes on my Cobra and had a 12 minute run making just over 100k.

I'll add my voice to those saying that the pricing is not enormously inappropriate, but that it would be nice to have some ships that fit into the gaps between the existing ships. I'd have loved to have an Asp/Cobra-like do-it-all ship between the Type 7 and the Python, and I suspect that it would have slowed down my progression between the two because I'd have spent far more time exploring and bounty hunting than trade grinding.

Lots of people have anacondas and pythons as of now

I dare say if I'd got a type 6 after my first million or so, I would have the money for a Python by now by grinding away at trade. I choose not to play that way and don't feel the need to. I'm enjoying what I'm doing and that's all that matters :)

I don't often post, but I will say you seem to keep posting mostly passive aggressive negative stuff based upon the notion that 'other groups' have an unfair 'advantage' over yourself..

With this comment you then degenerate into schoolyard insults about other players.

You need to cheer up mate.

This ^^^^

lol yes i bet ytou can do that atm!! how many a hours a day have you played? because ive played 4 hours a day since release and on the weekeds, ive made about a total of 7 mill creds

I've been playing since gamma, play anywhere from 3 to 12 hours a day, own a Cobra, and barely have 5 million to my name and about 4 million in upgrades. I'm looking forward to the day I get a python (and maybe a Type 9 or even an Anaconda...) but in the meantime I have been enjoying the game and will continue to enjoy the game. I've done some of everything but piracy, but probably mostly exploring so far. But I'm happy with the difficulty in obtaining the larger ships. I feel like it's a good challenge, takes some work, and will make it more meaningful when I get to that point. Besides, I enjoy progressing and wouldn't want to be in the most expensive ship within just 2 weeks time.

Wow, four hours a day. What a free time :)
I play 30 minutes a day. Well...not every day.
120.000 credits at the moment and very very slowly progressing. Working to a Cobra. Because that's the ship you have to play in elite.
And after that, no running to a new ship. Let's be honest. All the ships have the same HUD and look a lot the same. It is only different in size
So why should you bother? (although I know not everyone agrees to this point.)

happy 2015

I feel bad you only get 30 mins a day that would suck even more than only 4 hours a day lol. and i feel for you-i think a good alternet to haveing to but the ship is getting certaion ships for free throught missions

Months depend on how much you play each day. Start by doing missions. Now that the tools are online ferry missions and locate goods mission. This should get you a cobra in reasonable time (~10 hours). That Cobra should trade for 1000+ credits / ton or do more profitable ferry/locate missions. Should be about the same time to get a Lakon 6. From there is it trade 1000+ credits/ton. About 20 hours for a Lakon 7, then another 40 hours for Lakon 9. From there its mostly the Anaconda that will make you cry blood from grinding.
