Map of the entire roster by (approximate) animal distribution

Yeah. Is not perfect... iguanas should be in the habitat map for instance. Same for amphibians imo. But then it is a mess to organize lol
Not really… in my experience iguanas (and amphibians) are generally in exhibit-type boxes (in reptile houses or similar) whilst monitors are generally in open enclosures. That’s just my experience, though and I fully acknowledge it may not be representative of zoos in general.

While I've never seen iguanas in a dedicated large habitat, I did see them in large habitats shared with larger mammals, like sloths and agoutis.

I have seen iguanas in 8 different zoos, not a single one had them in a typical terrarium set up.
My local zoo for example keeps them in their tropical dome, where green iguanas share a sizeable open enclosure with carribean bullfrogs, giving them equal if not more space then their monitors and small crocodilians (african dwarf, australian fresh water and curviers dwarf caiman).
Most other zoos ive been to they either where free roam in tropical houses or chared their habitats with monkeys, agoutis and the likes

hot take but why dont we have animals from the habitat market in the habitat map , and animals from the exhibit market in the exhibit map
Because it goes against the purpose for which these maps were made for. I made a detailed post explaining my position.

You can disagree, but framing the "new" division as a ridiculous notion with sarcasm is not productive to the discussion.

I would say you are probably more likely to see Green Iguanas like this in Europe, than you are to see them in a more traditional terrarium.

But there is always a lot of people who tend to find this hard to believe.
Fair enough - as I say, I’m just speaking from my own experience. Perhaps iguanas are not in open style enclosures here (austrslua) because there’s a chance they might survive / breed whereas it’s too cold in (most of) Europe?

I haven't been following the discussion much so I just saw people suggesting new maps for sloths and crocodiles and such so I suggested what I thought would be the sensible option. Not sarcasm in any way

Also if I'm sarcastic it's very very obvious

Well this has taken a while, but of the users that participated so far it's seemingly 13 for the bat and sloth on the habitat map and 9 against. Seeing its a close margin (and that the previous decision to put the bat in the exhibit map was also by a close margin), until the next WE animal is introduced (likely the next dlc) we'll keep them in the habitat map for now. Discussion will be reopened with the next dlc.

However, butterflies went unmentioned. So let's move on to them, where should they be?
I vote to keep WE animals on the exhibit map, unless we have another situation like with the butterflies in which 4-5 animals get added in one go. I'd also support doing this if flying birds are added into the WE system, and not a new one called "aviaries" or something.
