as annoyingly missed the potential is, i cant deny the pack does fill in the blanks on the map nicly
Honestly it does, the Rhea, and Saki fill huge holes in South America. The Flamingo can add something to the Caribbean, and the coyote easily fills up a good spot in Mexico.

Credit where credit is due, the bush dog and ocelot also add something for an Amazon area.

To be honest, I still believe in “no bad animals, only weird pack placements”. And I think this pack fits that very well.

Which coati would you prefer? Also would you prefer the guanaco or vicunia?
Any coati with the preference to South American.
For me domestic animals are no substitute for their wild cousins so I would like both with preference to Vicuña.

Also @yoav_r could you please consider moving wisent little left or changing places with a swan?

Wisent is the polish national animal, it was saved by this country alone and although it has now populations across Europe and also Caucasus it would be really great if it could be placed where the Poland is. That would be much appreciated.

I think it is fine where it is now. It looks like placed in areas that were part of Poland in the 20's when the last wild bison were shot and when the reintroduction program begun. And at the same time it is located in the centre of their current range, so I wouldn't move it.
It's not the only species that is very significant to some country but that country isn't in the centre of the species range so its icon doesn't appear there.

That was just a thought. The case is much more complex but it’s not a place or time to discuss it.

That feels really limiting for no reason. It’s artificially reducing the thematic variability of species just because of marketed pack names. Might as well kick wolverines out of North America at that rate.

Wolverine isn't in North America on the map

I think I know where for you to put the Americas Animal pack in the map.
  • Greater rhea - between Brazil and Argentina
  • Bighorn sheep - Western North America
  • White-faced saki - Suriname and Guyana
  • Ocelot and bush dog - most of Brazil
  • American flamingo - Carribean
  • Coyote - You work that out. Maybe some place with roadrunner birds.

I will not have access to my computer for a bit. If anyone wants to update the map with the existing gaps temporarily I'd be glad to add it.
