"Material drops at settlements provide only one item instead of three. This is intended"

Okay, confused. Someone give me a dumb explanation. Is Dav's Hope meant to drop 1:1, or 3:1?

According to Will, it is dropping 1:1 now, but it is not what devs had intended (despite previous confirmation that it was intended). Most likely some mixed messages and misunderstanding. So according to devs it should drop three data items instead of 1. They are looking into fixing that.

Update as posted here.

Splendid news. Sounds like the raised issues were maybe skimmed over slightly and it was accidentally marked as working ok.

Thanks for the replies Will.

Exploits? Show me once where I used an exploit? I for sure exploited whatever FDev gave me. And I make no apologies. It'[s their problem if they publish stuff without proper testing and QC.

How do you expect me to show you unless I recorded your entire gameplay ??? But it seems like you've just admitted it yourself anyway so well done. Well done also for passing the buck onto Frontier. Absolving yourself of all the blame I suppose ? You have choices.

You'd think outstanding bugs would take priority over P'ing off the playerbase. I can list bugs that are here now that were here prior to 3.0.
You think it pee's off the entire playerbase? Some are quite happy with how things are.

...Wonders if Sebastian missed the point.

Nah... well maybe... but only by a few parsecs...

You never really can know for sure in this forum. Some people are masters at sarcasm and carry it well. With those people, it's obvious. Some are actually very serious, when you may think it's sarcasm. Then the inevitable flame war begins and the contest of whose got the bigger gun, etc and so on. Besides, I've got oldtimers disease. I lose my edge from time to time.
Huh?

OK - was this all a ruse by FDev?

A genuine mistake? [unlikely]

A deliberate change - which when there is a little outrage on the forum (<1% of players) quickly invokes a U-Turn?

Why would it be a deliberate change? Well - because Dav's Hope et al, are really no longer necessary, and their very existence is encouraging the repetitive grind that so many forum members are against. The whole idea of Dav's Hope is to repeat a loop endlessly - the arch-grind!

If Fdev had stuck to their guns, the players using Dav's hope would have found the same materials are now naturally spawning in many more places since 3.0 and they can just do regular missions, regular exploration, regular having fun - patch it up with the material traders and voila! They have what they need... They would have been free from the very grind they supposedly hated!

Oh the fuss! Oh FDev's weak spine. Oh the forum's mock rage...

I hope the investigation goes toward increasing the spawn and/or drop rates of data and materials. Remember, this is a GAME, not a second job!!!
You gave us engineering, there will be a set of players that want to get their ships to be the best it can be.

I agree 100%!

While I personally took the last two weeks of 2.4 to gather up a good amount of G5 mats and data, which was instrumental in fleshing out my remaining lower grade inventory slots... It wouldn't hurt to increase the spawn rates and/or quantities available to help those new to the game and those who failed to plan ahead.

A great place to start would be to fix the mission rewards which currently only offer a choice of (3) G5 mats or data. Thats it! None of the other G5 materials and data are ever offered as mission rewards, despite several claims to the contrary in Frontier authored patch notes.

Those three items are the following:

Modified Embedded Firmware
Exquisite Focus Crystals
Biotech Conductors

Thats All Folks!
