"Material drops at settlements provide only one item instead of three. This is intended"

Not really re-thinking. 3 instead of 1 was a long standing bug. What Will confirmed basically they will do a pass over spawning tables after first feedback and telemetry.

Doesn't mean it will be easier to get mats. More likely people still will loath way it is done.

A bug that they said was intended and not a bug.

"Material drops at settlements provide only one item instead of three.

This is intended."

Yes, one item per drop is intended. Three were not.

It has been 3 for a long time and that was intentional. It was added in 2.1.05. All materials became 3. It was originally going to be changed to 5.

It became 1 recently, and was reported as a bug. Now we find out they did it on purpose.

It become 1 during beta of 3.0. It was intentional for 3.0. Was it a bug or not I won't call, I asked support about this during beta and they explained that this change is coming.

My point was it has nothing to do with going over spawning tables. Let's say 3.0 starts with such table with version 3.0. So they will do overview and will have version 3.0.3 for table :)

Anyway, will be interesting to say how they will tweak spawn rates, because there's lot of things already good in 3.0.

The point is changing it to 1 just makes it more painful and for no good reason. They're looking over it again, and that's good, but it should never have been changed in the first place. High grade data is ridiculous as it is.

They altered the deal. Pray they don't alter it any further.

Yep! To confirm, we're investigating the material/data drops now and will have more information soon.

Thanks Will. I hope the change gets reversed.

However, the more alarming question is: why did the devs ever consider this a good change in the first place?

I'd love to know the thought process behind this increase the grind mentality, because it's a very disturbing pattern with Frontier, and something over there needs to be re-evaluated IMHO.

Yeah, they up the material limit to 300 so we can carry more, up the mat requirements for engineering, but reduce the drop from 3 to 1.

That doesn't make much sense, does it?

Goram your sense! We should all eat with out rear ends, knock on doors with our faces and fly our ship from the outside!
