Menu logging

So menu logging is a legitimate way (unfortunately) of quiting the game to the menu but should there be a limit to how many times this can be done in a combat situation a player could keep doing this and get away with it.I was pirating at prism with other pirates and there was this conda that you constantly menu logged it went like this

Asked for cargo he menu logged

He came back Interdicted a wingman but as soon as I and others jumped in menu logged

We see him in sc STILL COMES INTO OPEN EVEN THOUGH HE MENU LOGGED TO GET WAY FROM US so we interdict him and guess what he menu logged
Il put a poll down to see what your opinion is the question is should there be a limit to how many times someone can menu log in a combat situation.
[SP][/SP] I cant find the poll option atm

No poll yet, but when there is you'll get my vote. Either limit the number of times you can log out during combat or increase the delay timer. I don't pirate and rarely get involved with PvP except by prior agreement so it has not effected me personally, but I do think it is too easy to avoid combat this way. If you don't want to be pirated at all, then don't play in open.

Regarding forum polls:

They've been disabled, no plans to bring them back.

Polls were beginning to inundate our forums; many of which were biased/lopsided, flat out spammy/useless, or simply were created to provoke people/groups. Sorry.

Only people who can attach polls to threads are Frontier staff at this point in time.

I'd vote no because...

1. Your pirate group decided to interdict the Anaconda.
2. Your group did not have the firepower/experience to take him out within the 15 second timer.
3. You had multiple opportunities to inflict damage upon his return.
4. The Anaconda used the legal menu logout while in combat as well as the interdiction (I assume) ending the instance.

With the engineers it is a whole new ball game in PvP. There will be some ships that get away and some that don't. There are solutions to take out the Anaconda per plenty of YouTube videos. Limiting the defense so that the offence has an increased advantage is not the best way to go.

To be honest if the same guy keeps doing it, just ignore him and find someone else? It was mentioned elsewhere if you block them on Xbox then they will no longer be in your instance (not sure if that is true). But if there really is a guy like that, that's what I would try.

We did get him low but he combat logged

Tired of him logging? Shoot him. Once he's "in danger" it'll take him extra time to leave.

I think you should read my post again

If he's going to keep using it to avoid PvP, he really shouldn't be in Open in the first place. The only thing Open offers that other modes generally don't, is PvP.

That's why PvP players are so frustrated with it. We don't mind it per se, but it reaches a point where an individual player makes it obvious that they'll just log out on PvP.

If you're going to do that, why play in Open at all? These guys who menu log on every PvP encounter are just time wasters.

Did you open Fire? If not it was just fear or at least greed with a little bit of either trolling or stoic (since he came back in open)
Not very polite or smart but not against the "rules"
If you did open on him it's not very different from the usual combat log I think just a little braver
I bet you didn't fire, I know you are not that kind of Pirate.
But Yes, frequent circumvention of inconvenient situations through menu log should be considered as exploit.
Changes for that? Hmm, all that will happen is that the menu logger turns into a standard combat logger.

I've said it before. When someone menu logs on me, I kill them before they vanish. Make sure they come back to a re-buy. :D
