Menu logging

Yeah, but you get quite the rush when you get interdicted by a real life living person in open, or is that just me?

No, I get the rush too. I seldom even try to kill players. I prefer the game of cat & mouse.

Yep'. GIT GUD or die tryin'. Or play in Solo. I stand by my opinion that playing in Solo/PG is a perfectly valid way to play.

That's the mindset of "if you can't play with me you shouldn't play with anyone".

Maybe that would be valid if there was any actual Crime and Punishment that actually protected players.

The consequences are woefully imbalanced, much to the glee of many who take advantage of the imbalance.

It is what it is.

As it stands, if in Open, you WILL get attacked.

Don't like that? Play in another mode. There is nothing wrong with playing in Solo/PG.

As I look at it, if i'm in open by my lonesome I'm in my Cobra Mk. 3/4 (allows hilarious PvP and Great PvE without high rebuy).
I took the Unicorn's advice and Rngineered a couple Cobras. Best move ever.

Well of course. It's the best brig in the game.

Not to defend the position but attack people in open people WILL combat log (if they don't want to fight, run etc) could be equally applied. FD have no intention of fixing that or inversely the C&P so it "is what is is" applies there too.

Combat login is against the rules, harassing players is against the rules. Its a tough old galaxy.

Just playing devils advocate here, I have not experienced either side yet but as an observer I can see both sides to the argument and its not been resolved so far.

The difference is, is that no matter what, the guy just engaging players is NEVER cheating. (Unless they're running shield hacks, but that's a completely separate discussion)

Loggers, the pull-out-the-cable kind, are.

Thus, I have more sympathy for mindless gankers than I do C-loggers.

And you're new here, so I'm going to tell you something you likely won't know about me.

I used to be care-bear #1 on the Xbox forums.

Since exposing myself to the plight that PvP players are enduring, I had to jump ship. PvP NEEDS to be improved.

Aand yes, I do support a better C&P system. I now WANT to be forced to go on the run from the law, for crime to be tougher. It would take more skill that way, which I enjoy.

So that brings us back to:

If you don't like combat logging, why do you pirate in open?

Also what I don't like is the insufferably entitled complaining that comes along with it. Look at this thread; people using legitimate means and still griping on about it.

This thread isn't about that, though. And you're still maintaining the same argument, so "cheating" can't be the reason behind it if the situation doesn't change with or without it.

That's the mindset of "if you can't play with me you shouldn't play with anyone"..

No it isn't. It's the mindset of "If I don't want this to happen I'd best get good at evading interdictions" and "if I'm likely to get interdicted, what options are open"

It's a mindset of doing not just what you want to do, but what you need to do, to survive. If that involves learning a new way of getting through (or around) an interdiction, without breaking the fourth wall and logging out (could you do that in a real life car? "I'm about to hit that tree! Not to worry, I'll jump out of the car and I can jump back in it at the top of this hill my brakes failed on") then so be it. Chances are the practice will come in handy...

So...yeah.

[edit: lost track of myself...got it back again n finished my post :s ]
