Putting bounties on players can't come soon enough. These guys are sure to make the most wanted list![]()
So they pair up - continue griefing and when the bounty is high enough, kill each other so they take other players' money?

At 63, I guess I fall in the "old people" category you are talking about. I am in computers since the 1980s, I have built all my PCs myself, have been programming with all kind of languages since DOS times, in my private life and in my job (on large company systems). I have also been gaming for 25 years almost daily. I know well how to use e-mail and I guess I could probably teach you one or two things.![]()
switch off router, wait half an hour, turn on router: new IP address.
this is the problem with banning IP's, its too easy to get around it via most ISP's

Sorry, you are wrong.

Alternatively give us the jobs as the security services to patrol with the very same cheat powers yet enhanced to nerf them. Cheats have low skills, hence why they cheat. A lot of honest players have high skills. Combine these with a security job with powers and the cheats would be useless. (Note I have poor skills so am not applying). I suspect there are many who'd like the job as a station CMDR. Give the Mods here the job. Give em something from the game to make up for their poor wages.
Let the community police the game.
He was hanging out inside the George Lucas Sation in Leesti. Yes, inside. The station was firing on him as I entered, on his small viper craft. As I entered, my shields dropped very suddenly as a stream of dumbfires pounded my ship. I quickly spammed shield cells, but he still got my shields down and hull to 75% before I could dock and escape his attack. He sat, hovering over my landing pad, the station blasting his tiny viper the whole time. I thought maybe he had zipped out of the station, spamming shield cells to not get his ship destroyed, but no, the whole 5 minutes I sat in the docking bay he hovered overhead with all the station's turrets blasting him. As soon as I launched, there he was, blasting an endless stream of dumfires, I managed to dodge some and get my shield cells going agains, but they just kept coming with no time to reload and I eventually lost my ship.

I reported the player's name as soon as it happened.
This kind of problem is a game breaking issue as far as I'm concerned for games. If Frontier doesn't plan to address the issues of allowing the clients to dictate how much health, shields, ammo, etc. a player's ship has, the hackers are going to lead this game down a path that leads to more fair minded players deciding they have no option but to cheat as well. I'm not threatening you, Frontier; I'm not saying I'm going to hack my client like this. I am saying expect it to become the norm if you don't address the matter soon. A quick Google search makes it clear just how easily and extensively anyone can do this.

You should of course report him/her, as you have. Unfortunately I've seen zero evidence that FD is doing anything about this - zero. Sure, there's been talk here and there, but I've yet to see confirmation that any action whatsoever has been taken or is explicitly planned. I would therefore advise to simply stay away from Lave and surrounding systems as the vast majority of exploiters seem to be hanging around there.
Even if FD manage to identify some of the hackers, it seems that on these sites people are happy to write down step by step instructions on how to actually do the hacks#
So FD ban one person but don't stop the source , one site shows how to edit the ED XML files to give you increased clip sizes and shield cells. It also shows how to add a script that you can bind to a key in game that blocks and unblocks UDP traffic with your firewall basically meaning of you get interdicted you can cut the connection with your interdictor but keep your connection with the ED server so they don't know its even happened!
None of the explanations require any downloads either as far as I can see other than an XML reader or something.
Its pretty scary, I'm just glad I don't know naff all about programming, I feel sorry for FD with this, it won't be an easy fix if there's even a fix available I bet!
Several have been banished to forced Solo for cheating. More will follow. Some hacks have been plugged. More telemetry is being recorded so investigating differences between client behaviour and what the server records will lead to more bans.

Really? Can you share your sources? or is it just from your Crystal Ball?
I'll get a warning posting links to hack sites. Google will probably show you something if you look for "solomode".
The increase in telemetry has been confirmed by the Devs.
