Isle of Arran...I've climbed to the top of that ridge seen in the first 5 minutesApparently there is a "world update" coming for the game in a couple of weeks. As Bing add more data, that gets integrated into their game through their machine learning algorithm.
The above is a dev interview with the lead developer & product manager of it. I had no idea it's the same people that were behind 'A Plague Tale: Innocence'. Colour me more excited.
They suggest the best thing to do to start is go home. See your house, see where you grew up, see areas that are familiar to you but have a different perspective from the air. It's what I intend to do, and I imagine lots of other people will too. Also, a game is coming. This is just the simulator part.
VR support is in a few months apparently. Initially for the MS/Valve/HP headset, and then later the others like Rift, Vive etc. I also suspect VorpX will have numerous profiles in fairly short order.
This is a game for the long haul flight.
Heres a question for some of you with more knowledge than me. Is this an engine that can be used for other games etc? Or is it only useful for this one specific instance?
I've watched a vid of an Australian guy running quite happily with 3Mbps down and 1Mbps up at 4k resolution with Ultra settings, there wasn't any perceivable drawn in of the terrain etc...it was my concern too since my download speed is similar to yours.I'm without my gaming computer until next January and this sim is really making me wish I had it sooner! Assuming my rig is specced out with the recommended hardware, what kind of visual performance can I expect with a marginal internet bandwidth, say 16mbs download speed?
Thanks for putting my mind at ease, MoleHD. Now I just have to be patient. The only flight stick I own is the Thrustmaster 16000m, reckon that'll do to get me started?I've watched a vid of an Australian guy running quite happily with 3Mbps down and 1Mbps up at 4k resolution with Ultra settings, there wasn't any perceivable drawn in of the terrain etc...it was my concern too since my download speed is similar to yours.
T-16 is a good stick...I'd maybe suggest adding a T-16 throttle to make it a HOTAS if you can, you can buy the units separatelyThanks for putting my mind at ease, MoleHD. Now I just have to be patient. The only flight stick I own is the Thrustmaster 16000m, reckon that'll do to get me started?
I have the throttle, too. Haven't used it in years though, so hopefully it still works. Thank you for the adviceT-16 is a good stick...I'd maybe suggest adding a T-16 throttle to make it a HOTAS if you can, you can buy the units separately
If you have the T-16 HOTAS complete, you've got one of the best...and most popular... HOTAS rigs on the planet. It's very highly rated and reviewed overallI have the throttle, too. Haven't used it in years though, so hopefully it still works. Thank you for the advice![]()
I enjoyed it for playing ED, I just wasn't sure how it would translate to flying real world planesIf you have the T-16 HOTAS complete, you've got one of the best...and most popular... HOTAS rigs on the planet. It's very highly rated and reviewed overall![]()

I have a Thrustmaster Hotas X...
For a flight sim...that's pretty awesome. Even IL2 when adding the tank module had to upgrade their scenery and assets in certain areas for the tank combat.Nope.
Well, I pulled the trigger and spent the money, most $$$ I've spent on a single game in a long time. Now it's wait for download time with fingers crossed my internet doesn't give out!
Since I get the standard version for free with MS gamepass ultimate, I'll more than likely spend a few bucks to upgrade to premium on release...can't do it now seemingly, I've tried.Well, I pulled the trigger and spent the money, most $$$ I've spent on a single game in a long time.
