What slightly annoys me in cashing in bounties is it's 'all or nothing' element, unlike say exploration data where I can take a larger volume of scan data and sell it across two or more facilities. With bounties it's just one drop the first opportunity you find the relevant MF. Say I've got 1m credits in bounties, and the MF is in two systems - I might want to drop 500k in each but can't with this mechanic - I do realise I can pop back out and shoot some more Wanteds, and that frequency of bounty pay-ins might matter more than credit value.
As an aside, I've found having a Hazardous Resource Extraction Site (HazRES) in a system 'my' MF owns to be highly useful in finding a plentiful supply of Wanted NPCs, plus at higher bounty level payouts - seems better than waiting around Navigation Beacons or scanning for USS. So for a skilled BGS'er, look for a local system to expand to that has a HazRES if you don't already possess one.
