Module Storage Limits[Again!]

Dear Frontier,

I am now at point where I have a fleet of storage ships, must be dozens of smalls, sizeable fleet of asps + 2 storage condas. And I need more now.

It is a bit ludicrous.

For long time players who invest a lot in this game, module storage is a must. Especially for PvP where fully engineered ships and in different configurations are necessary. We need flexibility of loadout. 120 is just not enough especially factoring in PP modules, various configurations+experimental effects variants of standard modules. I really loathe having to sell engineered modules; time and effort went into making them.

And it is something that hits the long time player much more than the beginner or casual. We simply need more module storage than the 120.

IF there has to be some limit can it be 120 + (some multiplier)*engineer unlock level ?

This makes more sense than the flat 120 which most beginners dont need and experienced CMDRs find way too little. A very easy change for you to make to the game, and is going to save people so much hassle and credits. Even to pay for extra storage would be fine. I am currently paying 5.5 mil just for a storage asp which is minimum can take class 6 modules.

Another change regarding module storage I would request is to be able to 'tag' modules with a string so that i can categorise them. Lets say I want to take all modules for "FDL combat" from Eravate to San Tu, if all can be tagged by a name I give, I can easily just take them all rather than going through the whole list and doubtless missing some and having to wait another 27 minutes for the ones I forgot to arrive.

We could also have a better sorting method for taking modules so that rather than just by class we could sort by module type etc.

I hope you implement these ideas especially increasing module storage, that is pretty much a necessity, other ideas are 'nice to have'.

Signing off,

CMDR Gavin786

Ahh remember the times we had 60...

I have all the ships, some of them even doubles. And I think 120 is enough. Just don't buy 10x of one module...

I feel ya OP, but you probably shouldn’t have mentioned you use the modules for PvP, gets the forums riled up.

Next time just mention it’s for a PVE Fleet you have stationed everywhere for immersion reasons.

Agree that more module storage would be nice, like your suggestion.

Joking aside, we should be able to buy storage space in stations.

Default is none. Legacy CMDRs with stored modules get to keep the 120 slots for free, but each time you remove or transfer one, you lose that slot until you're down to paid storage. Free Unused storage is also removed.

Then you just buy storage at your local station. The more you need, the more it costs.

A bit of realism and a money sink there. And near unlimited storage, because you just keep buying it when you need it.

What this forum needs is a good old fashioned PVE v PVP flaming, when I say old fashioned I mean... old, like say this morning.

I didnt know there was a PvP vs PvE fight on the forums. I only got into PvP as I had exhausted the game in PvE and done everything there was to do. I am really glad I did as it has brought new life for me into the game and every day almost I am improving and evolving in a way PvE could never challenge me.

Yes if you are a PvE player then you only really need 3 ships taxi/exploration, trader, combat. And 120 is more than enough module storage.

For PvP with players of equal skill very small differences make all the difference, and in a way I guess many PvE guys never would consider. Take power plant for example. You need to have the LOWEST possible modification to power what you need as that is more heat efficient. So if you have 2 or more different possible loadouts for a given ship with different power requirements you need 2 different power plants. For PP modules then stocking up is a must as you dont want to wait 4 weeks to get those modules again. Princess Aisling especially takes a lot of space. Most players are going to have at least 3 combat ships, big, med, small, each with different loadouts painstakingly engineered and being able to be swapped if circumstances dictate. Some player groups are notorious for using missiles for example, you would want to change your loadout away from boosters to maybe some point defence. All of these take up module space. Same if you think you are going against plasmas you want as many shield points as you can, else you might want high resistances. These are just a few examples. Add to that experimentation. You might want to try different loadouts to see if they work for you. Even if not, scrapping a grade 5 engineered module is foolish; the time in the future may come when it is handy as things evolve.

I have talked to few other players and I am far from being the only one with this problem of not enough module space.

Storage condas are ludicrous. And many players have them. Equally ludicrous is scrapping a module I spent hours to farm materials for. This is not a good solution. We need an option to have more module storage. Such a small change to the game for such a big benefit to many long time players.

Give it a rest. Sell half that junk, engineered or not.

Yep, a good solution. Even better, put all your engineerd stuff-you never use- in your ships and sell them. You get more credits for the ships and you've got a new goal; gathering resources/mats and go back to the engineers ;)

And being able to send them ahead to a known destination...

Definitely this.

and also... the ability to swap a module thats installed on another ship.
Instead of having to get out of your ship, get in another ship just to take out the module you want, and then get back in the 1st ship.
Which if youve got (more) cargo (than the 2 second ship) or passengers, the game wont let you do.
