PvP My experience with the PvP hub - a shout out and kudos

Premium ammo is a joke. It should be turned upside down. Highest synth level should be equal to what you get in the shop. Lower grades should be worse.

I think that's an interesting idea, and I want to hear counterpoint.... now, people.

Now.

*edit*

Actually, it's probably a better conversation for another thread, as getting into it could take this one far off-topic.

What's the problem with TLB's? Is that a condition of the hub? As far as I'm concerned they're absolutely within the bounds of PvP sportsmanship, so I don't see why they wouldn't be allowed.

I'm ok with TLB on regular PAs but their lack of cooldown makes them a real pain on APAs. IMO TLB should have a 5 second cooldown.

I'm ok with reverb cascade in a duel but all too often it's just used as a gankers toy in conjunction with packhound spam.

I'm glad you had a positive experience. My experience was that the admin team must have taken seriously Harry's nonsensical accusations of cheating against me, and kicked me shortly after I joined.

So yeah, the situation hasn't really improved that much since the GCI.

I seem to remember that in the not so distant past any of your posts on this forum relating in any way to PvP in Open were either admitting to or advising for players to clog. That kind of stuff follows you around my friend.

Not in any PvP scenario, in case of unprovoked out-of-context ganking; and I stand by my principles.

I have never combat logged while engaging in PvP.

Combat logging is wrong. It betrays a weakness of character, IMO.

(And that includes menu logging)

Good for you. It takes some balls to not only admit to, but actually brag about clogging. This is why you're not welcome in the Hub. Don't try to put this on the organizers for upholding some integrity which you are clearly lacking. Just count yourself fortunate that Fdev doesn't wipe your account.

The ones who lack integrity are the griefers who take enjoyment in ruining other players' day, not those who choose to ignore them in the only way they have left.

But that's beside the point. "I don't like you so you are not welcome in our private club" is a legitimate position. Spreading lies about someone cheating, on the other hand isn't.

That's an opinion. Just like I don't think PG/Solo players should be allowed to affect Open play.

But the only aspect of all this that's currently actually against the rules is CLing. You're welcome to try and justify it with opinion all day, but you are advocating cheating. Don't like it? Take your case to FD and ask them to change the rules. Link here plox so we can have a laugh.

Anyway - I don't want to be responsible for derailing this thread. I am beyond happy to see some positive moderator engagement with PvP. AA, I would actually be honoured to have a spar with you one day should you be up for it. Also, I'll secretly let you humiliate me and film it* if you can convince Rob to join in.

*I might even let you take some footage of my ship too.

Who is Rob?

As for the spar anytime if you can play around GMT evenings. CMDR name is same as my username.

I was speaking to AA, who would likely recognise Rob as the moderator (has a particular disdain for PvP), but I'll add you and let you know when I have some time anyway. I'm regaining some steam after several months of limited time dedicated to ED while I move house etc., so all PvP duels are accepted to get me back up to scratch.

He is accused of shield hacking, not sure what was the final verdict, but if its true, its worse then clogging, this is on the level of 5v1 engineer cheats.

Shield hacking goes above and beyond any in-game exploit but accusations of it should go completely unheeded without proof.

With proof of course the player's account should be instantly and permanently banned from playing, without a shadow of an argument.

Precisely.
I have submitted all the details of the encounter to FDev, including my network logs of the incident - details and all evidence is in this thread.

CMDR Luna of FDev Support concluded that there was indeed lag, and that this can cause projectiles to deal no damage, but then Harry came out with accusations based on my network log that only betray his ignorance of p2p networking.
Alas, someone took his word at face value in spite of the evidence.

While we can't prove whether or not you did cheat, we can prove that you regularly tell people to Combat Log. Advocating cheating is against the rules.

XD, your prob one of those guys that lost continually to premium ammo loadouts, and was to lazy to go farm some yourself. So the best possible solution is to cry about it until you think Fdev will do something about it.

Certain people in the community are present just for this, they don't agree with stuff agreed upon by 95% of the community and end up being un-necessarily corrosive and make people dislike them. He is a pretty good example of that. Cant do anything about it so just have to go along with it and have some fun while you're at it :D

More like u assembled 95% Of toxic GCI into a pvp hub,Play by your own rules, and not give the freedom to players to choose how they want to play. And Since the mechanic's of heal beams , heat, and premium ammo are totally ok and part of the game .you chose to create these rules based on opinion. Opinion you claim is agreed by 95%?? of the pvp community XD. All you created is a cry-munity that collectively cries about the same things and agree's on them. Unfortunately now a days there are more people that cry about this game then actually playing and enjoy it. So since you know you won't get what you want with the mechanics.. since its already fine....PVP hub was born.

You got kicked on the dubious word of well known cheat Harry Potter. Thats not an impressive stance to take at all.
