my first Impression of ED on the PS4pro

2 people have already confirmed screen tearing on PS4 (non-Pro). Maybe Ducks is a "special" slim? ;)

Yes, it will be special compared to these other PS4s, because it will have the launch day patch installed, a fact you are all forgetting in your zeal to roast your most adorable duck.

You during the first few days of the game

I think players are but spoiled when it comes to gaming performance, had to endure years of buggy games (screen tearing included) back in that day on PC. I'm more concerned about the game working properly, which it seems to so I'm happy.
I think everyone is being a bit hypocritical tbh, many claim to be differnt from the rest of the ED community but are all more than ready to b!tch and moan as soon as you're unhappy (as represented by the many salty posts on lack of info prior to the PS4 livestream announcement).

I don't suppose anyone has tried vita remote play on their early copy yet have they?

Interested to see how the controls map out and how it plays on the small sticks :)

Let me make an analogy, robjef.
Imagine you spend your hard earned money on a... let's say... 4K TV, and then you notice that the Tv isn't working propperly or has some flaw with it's image or sound. Do you complain at the store where you bought it or you just keep quiet and suck it up, cause you consider it "b!tchin" and "moaning"?
This is no different... We bought a product which isn't working as desired. PC and Xbox versions don't suffer from this, not to this extend. Even Ed and Lloyd were surprised by the amount of screen tearing during the stream... What we did was simply complaining about it, so it gets sorted and fixed, like a television or dishwasher would, for that matter. As a result, Lloyd commented on this same thread yesterday, saying that he took notice of our complains and that he will pass it through to the team.

It's not a matter of being salty or hypocritical...
Buggy and/or technically flawed games shouldn't be the norm, it's the other way around. You should never conform with it.

That's some fine entitlement you're displaying there.
You're going to fit right in around here.
If this were a dishwasher you might have a point, however this is software, work in progress software,on a new platform, that hasn't released yet.

Retail copies are already out there.
Lot's of people playing and all of them complained about that particular matter.
And by the sound of what Lloyd said, it seems Day 1 patch will not solve it, otherwise he would have mentioned.

I know game development is hard as hell and i also know that sometimes bug fixing takes time or might even be impossible to fix, depending on the problem at hand.
But i'm not demanding anything... I, like many others in this thread, simply complained about a problem that exists. It's quite simple.
Dunno what is the problem with that to be honest... Or you're another one of those "How dare you to criticize our beloved game!?"
As long as there are others who share my opinions and complaints in here, i'm sure that i've already fit in.

Wait for release and day 1 patch,if there is a problem send in a bug report.
FD will endeavour to rectify it.

All fine excellent points, but as I have been informed in various ways. It's there game not yours, you simple have a license to use it. Don't like it, don't use it. That's just a wrong ideaology (business plan) (out look) to have. But seems to be the consenses of the throng.

All I have to say is if the Xbox One can run this game then so can the PS4. We do not need to worry. Even if this is an issue now, it will be fixed with the patch. We have no idea what is in the patch notes and I am guessing this will be one of the issues. Again, if Xbox can run it then so can PS4. We do not need to go into panic mode.

So, you have informants now?! Consences of the throng?
Damn it Billl, are you out of your meds again? :p

Yep, you're absolutely right. Nevertheless, a Game Developer rep is only as good as the quality of their games.
If the user base makes valid complaints, they should adress them, like Lloy did yesterday, and try to fix them.
No matter what people say, that amount of screen tearing is simply not normal (Even Ed and Lloy seemed surprised by it) and should be sorted.
How and when, that's a different story. Sometimes compromises have to be done and it takes time, to implement, to test, etc.

I feel like i'm repeating myself with each post i write. [haha]

No informants, I have read just about every post in this and other forums in regards to ED and the ps4 platform. Besides, how many apples does it take to spoil the bunch. There are a lot of bad apples in this as well as other forums. I've just arrived at an average. 51% makes up a consenses, right?

PS, I've no idea what tearing is, and apparently it sucks so I hope I never learn.

I've been playing all day (mostly the docking tutorial as I need the practice)
just from looking/playing the tutorials I can see that I am going to be totally and utterly engrossed in this game and the hours I'll put into it are shocking haha.
it's amazing, the sound is stunning, the graphics are great and it just feels so so damn good!

however

(you know there would be a downside huh?)
I'm not thrilled with the way the cockpit moves around as you fly, it makes it really really hard to see important information on your display/gauges. also makes me feel just a tiny tiny bit travel sick. I wish that was lessened and wasn't quite so severe.

It all adds to the immersion experience. You're not nailed to your flight seat after all
